Basically, I'm a right leaning person who does not and is against voting in the general election for president.

I believe it would be better for conservatives to give up on voting and let the Democrats have a go at things for awhile.

However, I have a tough time convincing them to do this. Even after they claim to think 2020 was rigged, they still act like they need to vote in the upcoming election.

IE, apparently their faith wasn't shaken enough/that much by 2020 to make them want to step away from the system.

So my question is, what would it take to shake their faith in the system to get them to stop voting in the general election and just let Democrats win? Cause apparently that just hasn't happened yet.

What needs to happen politically to get it to that point?

That has actually worked on some but it's definitely a minority. I'd say at least 85% are stilll gonna go to the polls. Maybe more. There's a real sense of desperation.

Convincing others to not vote is a bad faith practice that has generational consequences. If you want democrats to run things for a while, here's a brilliant suggestion: vote Democrat.

And if you want the GOP to succeed, convince your local lawmakers and congress people to drop the culture war bullshit that has infected your party and focus on the needs of your community.

This is such a weird topic. If this poltical stuff is team based. There is down ballot stuff a team wants. Lets take OP example they claim to be a Republican. A Republican would want their team to have control of the Senate and House too. Or local stuff like their Governer, Mayor, etc. It isn't just about President.

Well, to be honest I dont care who runs things, the more important principle to me is that of not participating in that way. So voting Dem or republican still wouldnt make sense.

Now, voting Dem to beat the conservatives down to shake them out of their systemic faith? Tempting but that sits even worse than not voting
