Option 3 for me. I drive a lot and listen to Mark Levin (as long as I can stand that fucking idiot which is about 20 minutes tops), Glenn Beck, Todd Stearns (the worst of them) and Sean Hannity (still a pos but at least has the spine to agree with some liberal policies).

My parents are conservative and my mom at least can have a somewhat civil debate, I tell her how Levin is straight up calling everyone who doesn't whole heartedly support Isreal's actions of late a Nazi, and that literally every Palestinian supports Hamas and she did not care for that at all. So yes, I think as revolting as it is, it is important to know what the people who hate you belive, what they are saying, and the rationale/logic behind their bullshit.

No. Studies revaled that listening to misinformation (even with the intent to simply know what's being said) can result in you recalling the misinformation later (months or years even) as something you recall as fact

It falls apart when you try to bring up rationale or logic. In some of their minds there is no logic to their hate, aside from attracting the money of other hate-filled people. There's a reason there's a saying about reality having a liberal bias, and that's because the science tends to always back up the liberal viewpoints, which is largely because a lot of liberal viewpoints come from understanding the science.

A lot of conservative viewpoints are based on religion... that thing in the world that has caused more wars and suffering than anything else.

Personally, I'd rather base what I believe in on something that can be studied and analyzed than anything that's just supposed to be believed at face value, and many people still get completely wrong.

I have no issue listening to actual (old school?) conservative media. I'm thinking like The Dispatch and The Bulwark.
No point in listening to CPAC like shit or Daily Wire

It was more important back in the day...now it's just a joke.
Having said that, I just tuned into the Sean Hannity Radio show just now.....but frankly all messaging aside, it's bad media. Way worse than 20 years ago.

But don't you think there is value in being able to say exactly why you disagree or think a particular pundit is dangerous? It took all of three weeks for Levin to ramp up from "you're a bad American if you criticize Isreals response" to "YOURE NOT A REAL JEW IF YOU SYMPATHIZE WITH PALESTINE! ALL PALESTINIANS ARE HAMAS! IF YOU SUPPORT PALESTINE YOU ARE A NAZI!"
I think you need to have specific examples on why someone is a dangerous fuckwit and exactly what they've said. However:

This is true. 99% of these drones will dismiss anything you say or play the "you took it out of context" card. I've argued with people about Trumps 1/6 speech, they say "he said to PEACEFULLY fight! You're taking it out of context!" We watch the last 5 minutes of his speech, bot ONCE does he mention being peaceful. Their response: "duh well I could've sworn that's what he said, it was probably edited!"

Not really. They run the gamut of both extremes with a completely neutral option. Besides after the things you've said and believe, your opinion and criticism means less than nothing to me

I used to say yes and I still kinda do but conservative media has become so intellectually vapid that there's not much to listen to any more. It's all bumper sticker-tier culture war talking points that you've heard a thousand times before.

Honestly if you think there's still good stuff to listen to then I think it's incumbent on you to provide some examples because I can't think of any and I think a lot of other people in this topic feel the same.

Yeah those poll options definitely have a clear bias to them. You're framing it as either "Yes because I'm open to new ideas" or "No because I'm stubborn and prefer echo chambers". You even threw "Free Speech" in there for good measure.

Yup, I just made it through about a half hour of the Sean Hennity show. That was enough.

But I also want to point out, and I want to make a topic about this.
On his radio show, his content is about 12 minutes per half hour at best.
Talk radio is no longer even entertaining hate entertainment. It just objectively sucks.

My grandfather was a conservative and we could talk politics in a civil manner. But even he would be disgusted by what has happened to his beloved party.

The core proposition of conservatism is that some people are better than others, and therefore deserve to rule.

Since this is indefensible, conservative apologetics etc. are axiomatically dishonest.

It's simple enough to read each party's stated policies and look at their voting histories and decide who to vote for from that. They aren't shy about sharing them.

No need to listen to their programming FOX News radio bullshit. That's just masochism at that point.

It's not even that anymore. If you extol conservatism in its purest forms or hop on the grift, you will succeed in life and be rewarded.

It's important to know the talking points of your enemies to better counter their ignorance, but otherwise, conservative media is completely to be ignored. It's poison.

Option 2 is "Yes, I listen to conservative media because I'm open to new good ideas" and Option 4 is "I don't listen to any media outlets at all".

Options 5-7, the "No" options, are all either "I'm too stubborn", "I prefer echo chambers", or "I hate Free Speech", just dressed up differently.

Whether you intended it or not, the poll options have a clear bias to them.
