Unicorn Overlord CE already preordered

If I were to play a March game in March, it'd be Unicorn Overlord. I'm also interested in Dragons Dogma, but want to wait for reviews because I'm worried about its quality.

Yeah, the previews for DD2 have all looked pretty uninspired.

Unicorn Overlord sounds cool, but I'm worried it'll be too long.

DD2. Dragon's Dogma was already great so even a "Dragons Dogma only bigger and we add in all the stuff we wanted to have in the first one" sounds good to me!

Very surprised to see Unicorn Overlord doing so much better than the rest! My most anticipated game. The demo was absolutely stupendous.

the Dragon's Dogma 2 low votes also surprises me because I think it's going to end up being the 2nd best selling game on this list behind WWE 2K24

Dragon Dogma's could be fun, but I'm going to be waaaaaaay too absorbed in Rebirth. Maybe I'll pick it up in a couple months or something lol

Dragon's Dogma popularity definitely was a slow burn via word of mouth. It's still a dated and janky mess, but it has some of the best combat of any video game out there and the pawn system is neat

Potentially a few of these pending reviews (DD2, Peach) but I'm not like excited for any of them right now.

All I've got for indies is Rebel Transmute on 3/14 but I probably don't get that day 1 either.

Hi-Fi Rush and Princess Peach Showtime, but not getting them until April.

Hopefully 13 sentinels was popular enough to get unicorn into the big numbers and finally put vanilla on the map. Infinite wealth and reload are both setting records for their series, so ya never know. And hopefully rebirth doesnt leech too much from it either

Anyway of the poll my pick is Unicorn Overlord for certain, though I have general respect for that March 22 selection and hope the Peach game turns out about as well received as say, Luigi's Mansion 3. Would almost certainly be picking that up eventually if it is. Also as you can tell I also just missed this Llamasoft game entirely so that looks neat. Other than that, I definitely still want to pick up The Thaumaturge at some point, it really looks brilliant to me tbh. Magic Chaos is also very high priority for me (even though I acknowledge it would be for literally nobody else). SUMMERHOUSE and also Le Chateau later in the month both look neat and I might get them if they're on sale eventually. Really love the look of Death of a Wish and I want to check that out too. And a ways further into the month, I am SUPER hyped for Radirgy 2 and goHELLgo. And finally I'm pretty interested in Felvidek too, and that mahjong-themed suika game clone rules.

Oh yeah also Death Trick Double Blind will definitely be a day 1 buy (they're announcing the release date some time this week) and I'd also like to mention that Murders on the Yangtze River was aiming to get its localisation out in march too, so pretty likely to be doing a lot of objecting this month.

Persona 3 Reload and Infinite Wealth will take me through March I imagine, interested in Dragon's Dogma 2 though

by the way on a not march game note since i don't feel like bumping the february topic any more lol, i couldn't actually afford to pick up hebereke 2 straight away so i've only been playing astral party and turns out that's been very successful so far. has been peaking at 30k concurrent players on day 1 despite the online infrastructure for it not being capable of handling even close to that lol

vanillaware apparently started working on it even before 13 sentinels so it'd be a disappointment if it wasn't at least that lol

it may have seemed like a silly statement at the time but it's pretty obvious that they're serious about wanting to revitalise the strategy rpg genre or whatever the tagline was. albeit, more specifically parts that have actually died out (like ogre battle or growlanser, and even arguably valkyrie profile)

I played Rebirth for a couple hours last night and I am enjoying myself just fine

But almost the entire time I was playing my mind was just going "I wish I could boot up Unicorn Overlord right now..."

I could start a new save, but I'd just be shooting myself in the foot if I don't try to bear Rebirth before it comes out.

If I play any game here it will be Unicorn Overlord but realistically that will be a 'I might get to it later this year/some unspecified time in the future' game because I have too much else to play.

Vanillaware is good at taking an established genre, shaking it up, and creating something fresh and original, which ought to be appealing to your jaded soul. Go try one of their games, allow yourself to have fun trying something new or different, and stop being a hater all the time

And I don't like fan service either, but if the little bits and pieces of skin here is is your limit then maybe you should move to Kentucky.

Anyways, Unicorn Overlord is Ogre Battle 2, but with Vanillaware presentation and FFT atmosphere. All you really need to know in regards to whether it should interest you or not.
