I have a friend going through it right now and it's such a shitshow for her. She's been in and out of the clinic for weeks and there's been so many injections and tests and procedures and after all of that she's failed it. She travelled to denmark for this. It's probably been 5-10k in expenses.

Even with modern medicine they just really can't make anything even a high chance. She's paying out thousands of pounds to try and make this happen and it's like the success rate is less than 5% after months of work.

My wife and I went through three cycles, froze five embryos, and did genetic testing, and were down to our last embryo before one took. We had a program where we paid 10k and basically could try over and over again as long as we had the embryos, and would only lose that money if we didnt get pregnant. The testing was an additional 5k.

So my daughter is worth a small fortune, but every dime of it was worth it in the end.

Yep, but it's the last hope you have of giving birth your own biological child.

This sounds both really lucky and unlucky, but glad it worked out in the end.

Our fifth cycle resulted in a birth. Cycle #3 was miscarriage (treated with a DNC that is no longer legal in backward states). Total cost about $100k. The drugs alone are $20k/attempt. Totally worth it.
