If so how was your experience?
As of this moment, I've been to 5.
Some were great and others were meh.
Feitoria in Lisbon was prolly the best one I have been to but jeez are they expensive.

Not really a big fine dining guy and what I've read of most Michelin starred restaurants I don't think I'd be all that blown away by one.

I did in the 90s.

It was actually really good but holy fucking shit the prices were robbery I could have eaten McDonald's for a week with what I paid for my dinner.

Edit: I take it back there's a Pizza place I still get pizza from occasionally that is rated. So that makes 2 total.

You guys gotta try
the peanut butter soup... with smoked duck
and mashed squash.
And then the red snapper
with violets and pine nuts.

No, there isn't one near my city.

And I didn't know until a few years ago that it was the same company as Michelin Tires.

I havent, but theres a restaurant a few blocks from my house that was opened by some folks that cooked at a Michelin star restaurant. I dont live in a city that gets Michelin stars, but reviews say its star-worthy. Ive eaten there and it was incredible

My cousin married a rich girl (her family had something to do with marijuana in Colorado right when it got legalized) and her family paid for the whole wedding. The catering had I think 2 Michelin stars, though I can't for the life of me remember the name of the place. Somewhere in New York, not far from NYC.

The food was...meh, I guess? It was a super fancy 7-course meal. The lamb was very good, but you only got like 3 bites of it. The soup was the only part you got any substantial amount of, but it was downright disgusting. I had 2 spoons of it and asked them to take it away because the smell alone was making me nauseous. The rest was painfully average. I would never waste my own money on crap like that, so I'm glad I got to have the experience on someone else's dime. I do not recommend it.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

Correct. Michelin STAR restaurants are the top restaurants.

Michelin GUIDE restaurants are typically either:
a) really really really good for its value,
b) didn't get a star, but honorable mention based on cuisine type.

Michelin Tires in Paris came out with a hotel and restaurant guide book 120 years ago. The idea was that people in Europe would drive more if they knew what restaurants to go to. More driving = More tires. When the book became more popular, it became its own thing, and transitioned into fine dining ratings.

Yes, but I'm starting to go off fine dining a bit, I'd rather just have a really fucking good bit of street food made by a one-man band these days.

Funny thing is that Michelin has started making guides for street food locations as well.

I was about to say no, but I checked and one I went to with work in Chicago is a two star. I think work did a tasting thing for us and portions were TINY. Everyone was complaining about being hungry the rest of the night.

Yesterday I saw an article about Zuckerberg saying the McDonald's he went to in Japan should be a Michelin star restaurant.
