like , they def. thought you were up to no good, or stealing but wouldn't come out and say it. Many times many shoppers are confrontational with workers they think are doing this. Were you?

Yes, mostly when I was obviously homeless during my late teens, and yes, a few times I really was but mostly not
Has happened a few times during my adult life too, but that's just what happens when you are brown in America.

No, she broke her favorite crystal ashtray and since I was the only other person in the house, I was obviously at fault. So she grabbed the biggest chunk and came into my room and started cutting me with it. Later that night after she had finished drinking herself into a stupor, I decided I wasn't ready to die and got the hell out of dodge.
But, other then a lifetime of depression and suicidal ideations, yes I am doing much better in the present day.

Yes and recently too. Although it was weird and I feel like they had just been bitched out about it or something.

It was near close in Target and I am in the TV section trying to find a single TV in existence that has 120hz that isn't thousands of dollars.

2 different guys rotate near me who are so obviously not really shopping. It was very cringe.

I am literally in the LEAST Likely spot of the entire store where I could steal. TF you doing? Am I going to shove a 55 inch down my pants? Theres a pun somewhere in there....

I kinda did. More is coming back to me. At one point the first dude pretended to need me to move just so he could interact with me. Then he starts looking at NOTHING after asking "excuse me". Shit I wish I could remembr what the very first thing that tipped me off was. One of them did something so silly that I was like OHHHH, but funny enough I can't remember what it is. I think it was the way he was picking items up. Acting like he was a spy in a bad comedy or something....

I somewhat was giving them a pass because it felt like some weird training thing or like I said they had just been cussed out about it. It was just so bizarre. I gave the one guy a "dude.....you serious? You're really bad at this" type look. Then when the person I was with met back up with me I started complaining about the "CRINGE LOSS PREVENTION GUYS" swarming me around a bunch of giant TVs very loud. A uniformed employee heard 100% of it.

No, they were so heavy-handed and obvious about it that I imagined the store must've just grilled them about not being effective enough or something. Or it was some ridiculous training thing.

One man was very young. Couldn't have been older than 22. ooohhh AND he was also pretending to be on his phone. THAT was the first red flag. He circled me for the 2nd time and I heard him say something and im like...this mfer is actually watching me look at these TVs...Then he left the entire area and came BACK. So really he came around more than twice.

The other guy was much older than he was. 45-50. Had he been training him that would be hilarious because he was awful at his job too. Just come stand on top of someone in a place where they can't steal anything and pick up objects and set them down like you're roleplaying walking around in a Telltalle game or something. Totally not obvious.

I recall a time I was hanging out with friends in a mall. At the time we where just standing around talking and one of us was wearing a shirt with a pot leaf on it. I noticed a cop duck into a shoe store and pretend to be looking at a pair of shoes but kept looking up at us. We walked off and of course he followed. Nothing came of it though.

I have yes. Sometimes it's that the security guard just so happens to be nearby whenever I look up (making it very obvious that he's following me around the store). Other times it's the staff asking me if I "need help finding anything" and then hovering near me.

So, I can't speak for all law enforcement, but I worked at CHP for a couple of years and they didn't have a ticket quota. They just needed to have something to justify their time out on patrol. They helped people having car trouble on the side of the highway, they wrote reports for traffic collisions, etc. Something that proves they weren't just napping in their car somewhere.

That said, while there wasn't a quota, some officers absolutely went out of their way to write tickets for every violation they saw. Usually the new officers with something to prove lol.

Had a Target LP guy follow me into the bathroom, go into the stall immediately as I came out and look around, then proceed to follow me around the store afterwards. None of this was even remotely subtle.

I had been carrying around a CD or DVD. I had handed it to a friend to hold when I went to the restroom. I assume the LP guy was checking the stall for packaging or a security device he assumed I had removed. My friends and I made fun of him the whole time he was following us.

I suppose cause we had been standing around and not actually shopping he may have thought a drug deal was going on. He looked young so perhaps a rookie. He never stopped us i just noticed him paying very close attention to us then following us when we did move on.

Now otherwise I did got stopped once over a break in. I happened to be walking by and I had long hair a beard. Wearing a beanie a baggy hoodie and baggy pants.

At least I assume that's why I was watched in some stores, usually corner stores. It stopped in my early 20's.

Oh and the older I got the more I was profiled at car dealerships. Being a middle aged white man I have no trouble in the slightest getting the attention of a car salesman, in fact I don't even need to look for them as they seem to seek me out as soon as I show up on the lot.

Definitely.

When I was a teen it would get stupidly obvious sometimes too. Like when a store owner suddenly drops everything they're doing when you walk in to follow you around without even saying much of anything to you. -_-

Even worse when you try to ask them something or whatever and they're pretending to be busy during that. Like, "oh one second" *stares at wall for a minute before helping* to "play it off"

A few stores in Okinawa. Whenever I was out w/ my friends (there'd be up to like 13 of us at times lol). They'd follow us around a bit.

One time we got kicked out of this 1 lady's house/store (store was her house basically). i remember that fondly lol. Prob some racism involved.

Also my friends were bilingual (knew japanese) so they knew if something was up. Like that one time a restaurant wouldn't seat us even tho there were tables available. We were loud teenagers tbf and had gone to that place a few times before and maybe stayed too long (it was an all you can eat shabu shabu place)
