Used to get it loads as a teenager.

i have been. i just seethe but don't do anything stupid like yell at them. i was a very polite well of rage waiting to burst back then. hypothetically, i've shoplifted before, but i usually pay for everything and only metaphorically do that when i'm literally starving in this hypothetical situation.

Yup, it may be helpful but it's still profiling.

wow, super weird. She might have been absolutely irate if she thought you were checking her out, thought she was hot.

She thought I was going to take her purse off the table. She grabbed it like a baby and blew up at me. She was over 60 at least.

When I was a teenager yea.

No, but some customer thought I worked there. Turns out I just so happened to be wearing a red shirt and khaki color pants when I popped into target. Thankfully she laughed about it and wasn't hostile, insisting I get my manager.

Oh I had that happen to me once when I was in the grocery store. I was wearing a white dress shirt with a tie, which was apparently how the manager there dressed. So this lady thought I worked there lol

A bunch of times because of how I look and dress.

Nothing new to me though. It first started happening to me when I was a kid and getting into skateboarding. Back in the 90s there was still a negative stigma attached to skateboarders and adults always assumed you were up to no good.

Yes but I was stealing... Kind of...
In high school we had this hair brained idea to steal razors but then return them to the same store. We stole them no problem but when we brought them back in the store and waited in line at returns I freaked out because some lady that worked there looked at me and I started to leave looking really suspicious. I made it out (with the fucking stolen razors...) and she followed me out. I threw them before she got out and was like you stole razors and I was like I don't know what you're talking about and she said "lifetime ban!".
I think I was back in the store within the week.

So yes the lady that looked at me profiled me because I looked suspicious as hell.
