I probably had about 35 games from 20-30 years ago when I had them as a kid, but its fun to buy more now and test/try them as it was a system that I never really put effort into collecting back in the day. Probably because I was trying to buy games on the cheap, and that mostly came from going all out on rental places when they were selling their stock, and GB games were simply not very available as rentals. Honestly, the only place I recall renting GB back in the day was fucking Rite Aid. So its not like you could count on scoring a huge lot of GB games for cheap back then. Amazing Tater, Shantae, and shit thats like hundreds of $$ are kinda off the table for now, but ~$100 is doable. Now that I have all my old games in one place Ive been meaning to replay MGS on the OG PS1, but seeing as Ive never played the GBC Ive been legitimately interested in trying it, so looking forward to getting it. Japan only, though the plot is utterly non-existent so as long as you live and breathe some website with all the cards (or just have all of them memorized) you basically don't have to care that's in Japanese for 99.9% of it. Not as long or as hard as the NES contra games. Donkey Kong, insane game that just kept going and going. Final fantasy adventure. LOVED this game. I always liked it more than Secret of Mana mainly because it was less frustrating to play, but still challenging. That said, it gets a bit grindy towards the end so I don't necessarily think it's just a strictly better version than the first game.
