Dude got trolled on social media and his daughter received threats, it feels like what he said was out of real anger.

He's always been one to show his emotions when he's received negative feedback. This stuff about his daughter receiving threats though? That's legitimately fucked up.

He still had half the ppl cheering for him.

I guess Rock vs Roman won't ever happen. Rock told the crowd, "You blew it!"

He got butthurt because fans turned on him for taking Cody's spot.

His ego couldn't take the hit so he turned into a crybaby.

Calling it now, Rock swerves everybody, turns face at Mania, takes out Roman, helps Cody win, celebrates with him.

I'm glad people want Cody vs Roman more than Rock vs Roman.

For too long, the WWE has relied on big names from prior eras returning. It's good to have a current star be the focus. Rock has Hollywood. He doesn't NEED the WWE.

He's likely been training the last year or two for this. He was supposed to do this the last 2-3 years but his schedule likely never aligned to allow it.

Don't blame him for what Vince did.

Yeah, it's not even close. Why is the Rock pissed and why was his daughter threatened anyway?

One thing I like about AEW, is that with the exception of Sting - they generally let the new stars shine over the old timers. WWE was having Ric Flair or Arm Anderson in their late 60s beating up HHH and guys like that in their prime.

Hes on the board now. Means he has stock and is directly affected by the success of the company. Plus he can always come back for a month or two between TV shows and movies for an easy pay day.

I do have to wonder if this was the plan from the start or they pivoted after the negative reaction. In any case I think they're doing a good job with it so far. And yeah, it's also definitely nice for them to have The Rock around to distract from the horrifying Vince stories.

Rock was clearly brought onto the board to distract from Vince's shit, plus Hollywood hasn't been going so well for him the last few years. They had been wanting to do Roman and Rock for a couple of years now.

The whole thing has been booked so bizarrely that that it feels like it had to have been a pivot. I think when Punk went out with his injury they pounced on the idea of having Cody face Seth since there wasn't a clear opponenet for him and that would let them do Rock vs Roman. I think they genuinely underestimated how much people don't want another year of Roman with the belt (which is what would happen because they aren't gonna put the belt on a dude who hasn't wrestled in ages and is 51 year old part timer) and so they pivoted to this.

Also the Saudi blood money and expansion into India.

They get larger tv contracts each time they renew b/c USA network is a desperate pathetic shell of its former self and has no programming at all left.
Fox paid a lot for SDL and lost money on the deal and didn't bother renewing.
Their tv viewers have declined faster than tv viewers in general has.

Growing their international audience (not by being better television but literally by starting to broadcast there at all) and getting utterly ridiculous sums from MBS in Saudi Arabia is the main reason they make more money now.
It's kinda similar to how domestically Hollywood's been dying for a long time now, but w/ China and the rest of the international box office now being so large, the total box office ended up being higher.

Problem with that, is that's Roman's entire character and persona, and here you have a guy who's been champion for nearly 4 straight years now, and your goal is to 'take everything away from him', but then what? He's not just gonna retire. This isn't a Lesnar situation, where he comes in, earns a paycheck and leaves.

What's your goal with Roman after he drops the title? Is he gonna want revenge? Okay, that's a 3 month feud or something, maybe a Summerslam rematch, but then what? Is he gonna start feuding with Judgement Day or something?

They've booked themselves into a corner, because you don't spend a decade pushing someone to the moon and then just stop all of a sudden.

The Rock is the best.
