I miss just looking through those and seeing the artwork and extra lore.

Googling game answers or going on reddit just isn't the same

I used to collect all the FF and KH guides starting with FFVII and KH1, but now they don't make they anymore.

The last FF guide I got was FFXV and the last KH guide I got was for the HD Remix 1.5 on PS3.

I had the guides for ff7, 8 and 9. I'm pretty sure I sold them or gave them away because I don't have them. I wish I did.

The ff7 guide made certain when so and so died they were d e a d dead. They stated not even a Phoenix down would save them.

I actually knew the spoiler because I read ahead. I think I cried reading it before I even saw it meh fuck it I was like 10

When there was a retro game store near me, I used to browse through the game guides because most of them were $2-$5. I got some pretty good ones in my collection, like the GTA trilogy, Resident Evil 1-3, FF X-2, Chrono Cross, and pretty much all of the Blizzard games up to Warcraft 3.

The two in good condition could probably sell but the FF7 doesn't even have the papers attached to the spine lol. Plus I have lots of emotional attachment to that one.

I think I might have the FFVII one. Though I can't remember if I have the actual Brady guide or just some of the EGM-type magazines with walkthroughs from that era.

I do know for sure I have MK Trilogy and Fear Effect guides. And ones for Lunar: Silver Star Story and KotOR. Probably a few others. Maybe the FFVIII one? Not 100% sure.

I might also still have some of my early 90s Nintendo Power guides (FFI, Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Mario Bros 3).

Pretty sure all of my guides and magazines are packed away in one pile somewhere in my house.

I don't have any gaming guide, but I still have a 1996 edition of the Internet Yellow Pages.

Anyone want to join a list-serv? Or maybe spend some time on a MUD? Now if you'll excuse me, I have to respond to some posts on rec.games.video.nintendo.

I remember as a kid one of the sections was incorrect leading me to much confusion. I think it was somewhere in Kuja's desert palace so I couldn't escape. I either looked up an answer on this very website back then or i just kinda wandered around until I was able to make it work.

Turns out the issue I remember may just be a drop in the bucket. I had no idea at the time or even now this strategy guide is considered one of the worst ever, but it does track.

Is that one of the ones Dan Birlew wrote? He's an idiot, was even when he posted here.
