Yeah you kinda like have to go in on it as a group lol, I'm lucky enough to know two people who own it

I have to evangelize it whenever I can though because it's the HOT new social deduction game

Looked it up and it seems almost exactly like mafia? Post death conversation is cool but that doesn't work well with scanning roles. The ability to do sidebars is the most interesting thing.

It might be that it lets you run a more interesting game of mafia right off the bat. The host rules especially seem to encourage more host involvement and modkill potential, like some of the more advanced roles we play with. But it still seems like there's a learning curve that will prevent new players from having fun. I've never been able to host a B8 style mafia game IRL (except with actual B8ers) for that reason.

That's a mother mafia game you can buy and play with a group.

Phantom Ink and Just One are two that I've enjoyed!

Just One is one of the few games that is really good outside of the suggested player count (3-7). I even bought two copies to combine for big groups. You might think it gets easier, but a lot of times it gets harder, with more people cancelling out words or going so obscure that it derails the guesser.
