Ironically AC Origins (also Ubisoft) had a Bayek hair style that was like an early draft of that before Black Panther even came out.

It's because the devs that make these games never actually met any black people and they are just forcing stereotypes of what they think black people look like.

If gaming companies followed DEI standards this wouldn't be an issue.

About a year ago, there was something in IIRC, WIRED about a small studio made up of blacks, latinos and Asian Americans that was working on hair and skin tone code that would be available as freeware or something for game developers. It's clear developers don't really GAF otherwise. Not sure how the studio's progress is going.

Every white chad in the 2000s looked like Eminem or the linkin park guy so that trend carried over to video games. Lack of hair animation requirements were merely a plus for devs.

I've seen it on one or two people irl, but that was at work (I work at a college), and it wasn't too long after the first Black Panther came out.

anyway, I think it can look good, but the person with the style has to be good looking in the first place for it to work.

I know a guy at work who wears his hair that way. It doesn't hang down his face though, but it's definitely what he's going for.

The Kilmonger needs to go though. There are plenty of ways to style dreads both short and long. I'd gladly take the fro over it at this point.

I think the hairstyle looks cool but devs already spammed that shit and ruined it in record time.

I haven't played Hogwarts but did see the character creator and yes, they have a lot of different black hair styles. It's pretty cool.
