You can have a high population with a low birth rate.

It's neither over or underpopulated.

People who think the world is overpopulated tend to ignore the fact that we here live incredibly privileged and selfish lives and consume a disproportionate amount of the world's resources.

People who think underpopulation is a problem tend to be racist shitheads who believe in "white genocide" type bullshit.

NJ is the most densely populated state, and could feed itself (it has enough farmland, but some is currently growing things like sod). If you live in a less decent populated area, you can fit more people.

are many of you mostly thinking of u.s only. Iirc the u.s. only has like 4 percent of the world's population. Many people think it's a lot more though, iirc

yeah it has increased by a huge amount in the past century or so right? Isn't most of this due to preventing major disease, vaccinations and stuff? Or is it something else mostly , idk

Large part of the country is literal swamp you cant build on
Almost no nature left and whats there is artificial
15+ years waiting lists for housing
Unchecked mass migration both from refugees, and from foreign students (subsidies) and workers (cheap workforce)
A thousand other small reasons

Were projected to become Europes first megacity, it already is just cities and suburbs.

Not by a long shot. There are some major cities that have become overpopulated because people flock there, but there's a lot of unused land in the world.

No. The problem is that the very wealthiest people have been (and still are) hoarding more and more of the world's resources all for themselves, meaning that increasingly more people over the decades and centuries have been getting poorer and poorer.

unless you mean something else, this is not true. We have been getting richer with less rates of poverty as time has passed .

I really don't think people understand how poor the average person was in the past

This. My wife's family lives in St Louis and we live in the Denver metro. I challenge someone to do that 12 hour drive on I-70 and then claim the US is overpopulated.

The 600 mile stretch from Denver to Kansas City has nothing but small towns truck stops, and an Army base (Fort Riley).

Most definitely.

Every single problem has overpopulation as the root cause.

Hospital waiting lists? Too many people.

Traffic jams? Too many people.

High taxes? Too many people.

Unemployment? Too many people.

No the world is not overpopulated. We have enough resources for everyone on the planet.

The issue is getting these resources to people who dont have easy access to them, as well as people hoarding the resources, or using them for profit.
