ok, so there was that bill that recently passed where money got sent to ukraine, israel, and gaza. ukraine? makes sense, they need help. gaza? makes sense, they need help... but can someone explain how or why it makes sense to send money to both gaza and israel? this whole thing seems one sided as to who is in the wrong here

or is this some sort of "I'm playing both sides so I always come out on top" type of thing?

Because people picked their teams long ago. These days CNN and BBC will make a point that they cannot verify anything that the IDF claims, so at least it's going in a positive direction.

Egypt have started to build a huge refugee camp near the border.
5m tall fences, room for over 100,000 people, Egypt denies that it is a refugee camp but it make sense that they prepare for the worst scenario when Israel goes into Rafah.

Its so fucked up that Israel insists on pushing them out of the land intended for the Palestinians.

If I were Egypt I would be pissed. Possibly enough to just go and start pulling down walls on the Egyptian side.

Update about the Nasser hospital attack in Thursday.
IDF arrested around 100 persons in the raid for suspected terrorism.
Multiple terrorists are supposed to have been killed in the raid.
IDF is sure that some hostages have been at the hospital in the past.
IDF claims to have found grenades, automatic weapons and explosives in the hospital.
At least 5 patients have died because of the attack
Trucks with supplies are prevented from entering the hospital.

Regardless of how you feel regarding Israels current government, which definitely has its share of racists, surely it can be understood that Israeli citizens have the right to live their lives free from the threat of Hamas, just as Palestinian civilians should also be free from Hamas and Israeli occupation?

Both things can be true, even if you think the price to eliminate Hamas is too steep, and want justice for the civilians killed during the last five months and beyond.

This is a stupid ass pile of nothing that has zero meaningful relation to what I said or to anything. You can't wave away tens of thousands of civilian deaths and the destruction of virtually all of Gaza's schools, hospitals and homes like this.

They are being grotesquely cruel, careless and destructive vastly in excess of what their goals require. This only makes a real solution to Hamas HARDER. Hamas will have plenty of angry desperate people with nothing to lose ripe for recruiting thanks to Israel. They will recover. Israel will never finish Hamas off. Just like the US never could stamp out the Taliban.

The price is too high not just because the IDF is gleefully slaughtering anything that moves and then carpetbombing everything in sight just to be sure...but also because they aren't even buying the elimination of Hamas. They are buying years more of high military spending and conflict. All while tossing international support and progress in regional relations into a woodchipper.

Nazis marching in the streets of Tennessee got far less coverage than people tearing down posters or holding up watermelon flags.

So glad our media is focused on the important things.

Then why does Israel continue to kill civilians despite being called out by everyone for months on end? Is it pure incompetence or do they really want to kill them and/or enjoy doing that? You seem to take joy in not giving an answer to this.

Or is Israel magically above accountability? The world is growing tired of their constant "just trust me bro" attitude that hasn't held water in months. That may have worked in the past but this is the age of information where transparency is king.

Netanyahu has already said they will be going into Rafah even if an agreement to get the hostages back is reached, so I guess you had to change your views to match.

That justifies IDF's actions of killing civilians and sniping children how exactly?

Benny Gantz, an Israel minister without portfolio, now says that IDF will walk into Rafah at the start of Ramadan unless Hamas releases the hostages.
Seeing that they have claimed earlier that they will walk into Rafah anyway, do Gantz even have the power to stop the IDF?
And if they have changed their minds, why would Gantz be the one to announce it?
