Eh, that is only partially true. While it would be hard for any president to do something positive at the moment, given the state of the House and Senate, a President can still do a lot of negative things via Executive Order and on the foreign policy front.

No. She was a lackluster candidate with limited experience and some horrific worldviews, including suppressing evidence that would've exonerated wrongly-convicted prisoners and blocking early release to maintain the prison labor force, which is basically modern slave labor.

roflmao. The only downturn was due to COVID, which was out of any president's control and Biden's handling of the vaccine rollout was EXACTLY Trump's plan -- just leaving it up to the states.

Threatening genocide isn't an excuse to actually committing it. Israel has murdered tens of thousands of innocent civilians. Bombing hospitals and schools is barbaric. Shooting hostages is barbaric. Cutting water supplies is barbaric. Bear in mind that Israel has been oppressing Palestine for over half a century. Genocide is never justified.

I really don't want President Kamala Harris ever, but I'd take it over President Trump 2: The Revenge.
And there's no way she can win vs. Trump.
So I'm basically hoping for Biden to stave off senility long enough to win in November, then afterwards resign for medical reasons and crown Harris president. Like, that is super fucking depressing, but the alternative is Trump. :(

Its ridiculous that Nikki Haley won't be the Republican nominee because so many republican politicians believe you have to be MAGA to succeed. As much as I don't agree with a lot of her policies she is definitely the better candidate. I am curious what will happen to her political career after she concedes to Trump. She has already publicly bashed him, something no other candidate did, and all the former candidates have endorsed Trump (the whole reason why they didn't bash him, since they knew they had no chance, and wanted to stay in his good graces).

As much as I don't agree with a lot of her policies she is definitely the better candidate.

Honestly, in some parallel universe where she actually had a shot at becoming the nominee, I don't seriously see a path for Biden to win. She's charismatic, she's intelligent, and she has enough conservative bonafides to rally the Republicans while still maintaining enough sanity to draw on soft-right and centrist voters. And given that she's a younger woman of colour running against an old white guy, the contrast between the two candidates couldn't be more stark (and not in Biden's favour).

But no, the Republicans have decided that their best bet for a return to power is a geriatric orange con-man who ended his last stint as president overseeing an insurrection while a biblical plague swept the land and who now barely knows what day it is or which of his many criminal trials he's supposed to be attending this week.

Trump said today that he would encourage Russia to attack NATO countries if he gets re-elected. This fits the legal definition of treason and should immediately bar him from office, but the powers that be won't do anything about it.
