Not particularly. At this point it is obviously not going to be a system moving exclusive sot they are likely happy for any sales they can get. I've got Gamepass so I've already got access to the game as it is. I actually put a bunch of time in when it first came out, then I got sick and stopped playing for a bit and never went back.

I have to see what was actually fixed in the new patch to see if I want to go back.

never had gamepass. If you unsubscribe from gamepass you lose all your games? So does this starfield thing kinda make you lean more into thinking that cod won't be taken off of PS, if you ever thought that.

I played it for maybe six hours when it first came out. It didnt win me over at all. It just doesnt seem like a great game.

considering that we know it wont be taken from them, stated directly from both microsoft and sony, no, i don't think anyone was really concerned it would be.

financially it never made sense even before it was confirmed to not becoming exclusive.

I honestly have no idea what to expect. There are a lot of analysts that think there won't even be another generation of Xbox. My best guess is they will keep anything they promised support for as multiplatform for some length of time, just because they would never get another large merger approved in the EU if they backtracked on it.

Not surprised at all. Like was already said, just selling it on the PS5 is the better bet at making money at this point.

I'll be surprised if starfield doesn't come out on every console here on for at least the next two generations.

I don't know. There is a cost to porting and supporting a game to new hardware. They did it for Skyrim because it was ludicrously popular and people were willing to re-buy the game multiple times, but Starfield may not make financial sense to put the effort to support it.

There is more money to be made in making a game multi-platform then keeping it exclusive. So no, not surprised at all.

I am more surprised when companies stubbornly keep games platform exclusive because apparently they hate making money.

Exclusives are dumb anyways.
Not that it was ever exclusive. More like excluding. Only the PlayStation didn't get it, everyone else did.

Nothing is on switch. 10 year old slow ass GPU that can't run anything. Even cell phone games are too much for it.

At this point, third-party exclusivity is generally either a matter of an exclusivity deal that forces it or a studio being so small that they can't devote the resources to ports. Bethesda is no longer a third party for Microsoft, though, so producing exclusive titles for the sake of selling systems is to be expected (provided they can actually produce a system-seller, since between Redfall and Starfield they've been kind of struggling in that regard).

It's actually been since 2011 since they have released a great game. Unless you include Fallout 4, in which case it has been 9 years. Pretty crazy to think about it. 9 years without a success.

What did the Playstation do wrong to deserve Starfield inflicted on it?

Not at all. Bethesda/Microsoft seems to have timed exclusives for some of their games. I'd imagine Elder Scrolls 6 will go the same way.

It is actually the opposite. They want to get out of the hardware business and into the "game service" business. Microsoft buying up a bunch of studios is just a way for them to push XBox Game Pass by making games available on that. If they could make XBox Game Pass for Playstation, they would in a heartbeat. Sony won't allow it though, so in the meantime they will just release the games on Playstation as traditional physical/digital releases.

Yup I agree, which is why I think we will see an xbox app on Linux one day.
they won't stop with the xbox though, it will be a cheap media computer for accessing microsoft services like gaming.
