Bug Fixes

If the player used items to level up an Inkay to Lv. 29 or lower, the game would stop responding to button input. This bug has been fixed.

Some materials needed to craft TM223 (Metal Sound) were previously dropped by a Pokmon that appears in only one version of the game. This issue has been resolved. Shieldon Claws are no longer required to craft TM223 (Metal Sound).

After players installed the Item Printer in the League Club Room, under certain circumstances players could get stuck between the Item Printer and the wall. This bug has been fixed. Affected players can now get unstuck by speaking to the character next to the Item Printer and selecting I want to print something!

When a Pokmon under the effect of Dragon Cheer was switched out of battle and then reentered that battle, its attacks would still have a heightened chance of landing critical hits. This bug has been fixed.

Certain moves that Calyrex could learn via TM only while united with Glastrier or Spectrier would remain in Calyrexs move set even after Calyrex separated from Glastrier or Spectrier. Furthermore, even if those moves were forgotten, Calyrex could then remember those moves without being united with Glastrier or Spectrier. This bug has been fixed.

Other select bug fixes have been implemented.

Which game is better? Scarlet or Violet?

I hear there was an exploitable glitch involving Smeargle using Transform and instead of fixing the glitch, they just made it unable to use the move. They nerfed my boy for no reason. Not that I have one in SV anyway.

The actual patch is only a few MBs, but for some reason the system requires at least 5 GB of empty space to download the patch.

Someone at either GF or Nintendo is stupidly incompetent for this one.......

Inkay's always had a really weird evolution. In Gen 7 you had to hold your DS upside-down for it to evolve. I know they changed it for 8 and 9 but can't remember exactly how.

It still works like that. You have to be undocked iirc for it to register.

Yep, it's sad to see how much potential there is for a great game that's being held back on the technical side by a severely rushed development and the incompetence of the developers. I'm definitely not buying any more Pokemon games at launch, and if they have the same issues as S/V, I'm not buying them at all. I refuse to be duped by this franchise again.

Isn't this common nowadays? The most recent cyberpunk patch was 40GB and it just bug fixes and tweaks.

Aw shit. I guess I should get Home so I can actually put my 3ds pokeys somewhere. P sure I have the apps I need on the 3ds at least. I don't exactly wanna throw money for a subscription at Gamefreak or Pokemon Co or whoever after SV, but I don't wanna lose all my old lil guys either.

Install homebrew and CFW on your 3DS (if you haven't already) and back up your 3DS save files. That way you can keep your Pokemon in those 3DS games if you want to use them there but still also transfer them up into Home.

3 bucks is pretty fair to be able to carry them over, but i do agree

Since no one else answered this, I'd say Scarlet has the better exclusives.

Violet has more cool dragons and Iron Valiant and a less dumb motorcycle, Scarlet has the paradox mons with cool names, Tyranitar and Gliscor

None of which matters because you can trade easily and get access to tera battles from either version if you go online.

Yeah, so if go online your choice of version should really just be which uniform and box art legendary (which will serve as your mount the whole game) you like more.

I like the aesthetics of Violet more personally and also the end twist makes more sense with the future Pokemon than the past imo

Kudos to game freak, it's so nice to see a company passionate about providing the best experience.

How are people still playing it? Once I beat the game and caught every mon, I wanted to get away.

i haven't played it since it came out, tbh. i spent a lot of time looking for a shiny floette and never finished the game

nope, Bank still works beyond April, it's just that nobody knows until when.

But they've confirmed it would still work normally.

Its only disabled in wild battles. So still really hacky but not nerfed at least...

They further reduced the number of actions my omnipotent dog can do (in a particular setting). They nerfed him.

Not true at all. It has all ready been confirmed that Pokmon Bank will still work. Only the paid passes will be discontinued.

With the discontinuation of the Nintendo eShop service for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, the Pokmon Bank service for Nintendo 3DS will become available at no cost to users. You will still be able to transfer the Pokmon youve deposited in Pokmon Bank to Pokmon HOME even after the paid service is discontinued, and youll still be able to bring Pokmon into Pokmon Bank from compatible titles. However, youll need to be enrolled in a paid Pokmon HOME Premium Plan to do so.

On March 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. PDT, Pokmon Banks paid passes will no longer be offered for purchase, at which time Pokmon Bank and Pok Transporter will no longer be available to download. On the same day, Trainers will be able to start using Pokmon Bank at no cost. Be aware that there will be no refunds for paid passes that have already been purchased.

Note that players will see an in-game Free trial period! message followed by a line that says ?XX days., where XX is a number between 00 and 99. This line can be ignored.
