Title + thumbnail is a little clickbaity/implying beyond whats actually going on, as if they are running with the money and using it on themselves, though what has actually happened so far is still not good.

The charity hasn't distributed money out yet and has been sitting on funds waiting for the right partner, while claiming they are actively distributing to organizations. Jirard himself wasn't aware till last year and now is personally involved in finding the right partner after finding out, but still went on streams claiming they were sending funds out.

He said he wasn't aware, but then got incredibly defensive and attacking them for "trying to ruin his reputation." That makes him suspicious at the very least.
Like, he was worried that "donating the money immediately after finding this out would be an admission of guilt" but that shouldn't matter at all if you're legitimately trying to fix an issue.

They named 3 specific organizations that they were donating to, over the course of 10 years.

Then, when confronted, said they "didnt know where to give the muney!"

they paid themselves around 20,000 a year in operating expenses, presumably pocketing some of the cash, although not much.

the end game was almost certainly to transfer the money to an offshore account and move to a country without extradition.

But the problem is that they're straight up claiming they have been donating, but also even put a quote on their site by somebody who wasn't a part of UCSF finance. That is actually illegal I'm pretty sure, especially if they're filing as a non-profit charity org.

They're not stealing technically, but they did lie. It's hard to know for sure if the expenses were truly going fully to expenses or they were just trickling them down. And yeah if they were planning on storing it, then suddenly dumping all that money off-shore and disappearing, that'd be fucking nuts, but I wonder if it's completely out of reality

It's weird, but I can actually believe that this guy just didn't realize until he was told, like he said in the video. Like, I feel like I'm usually decent at sussing out people who seem excessively positive to a suspicious degree, and while he might have been, he didn't come off as entirely fake, if you get me. Like horrifically irresponsible, but not necessarily lying.

But maybe I'm off the mark. I've known of this guy since before he started the charity, but I've only watched one of his videos iirc.

Well yeah, like I said, 'until he was told'. Karl said 2022 in the video, but Jirard said 2021, so I'm a bit uncertain. Not a good look. If it was only one year, I could maybe buy him keeping the lie up in hopes of maintaining credibility, and working to get it fixed. I dunno, I feel like gamers are the exact type of person to be so dumb about this stuff.

But this is just my gut feeling, I'm not married to the idea, and I'm interested in hearing more information when it comes out.

He literally said 3 orgs that they were donating too, then the excuse is they don't know where to donate money to...because they got burned in too many charity scams before... With the university of San Francisco?... And the Alzheimer's association of America? And the frontal temporal whatever dementia foundation?... With the only check being a yearly filing, that's 12 months to transfer money and move.
