Cant they confirm their original claim that troops are hiding in these hospitals or not? If we dont get any confirmation is it safe to assume that was bullshit? Or no?

It's safe to assume it was bullshit regardless of what Israel claim. If an independent third party claim it's true, based on their own investigation rather than repeating Israel, that's a different story. But Israel at this point have such a strong pattern of disinformation and war crimes that nothing they say should be taken as fact without neutral third party confirmation.

There have been claims from Israel for years. Most cases where they've claimed it in as justification for actions have either never been confirmed either way, or have been debunked. It's very obviously just an excuse to bombard civilian targets.

Well there are no non-combatants in Gaza, remember? All deaths are considered Hamas terrorists. That's what they said!

I saw a tweet where they were going around the hospital claiming that they had proof that people were there. However other people said that their proof were lies. I don't know who is telling the truth. However later on, they side that they found a baby bottle in the basement that much have meant hostages were there. So that makes me question everything. If they are bombing the Hospital like they said yes we are doing. Then yeah people are going to take cover .

The Israel Defense Force's chief spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari set high expectations, promising his briefing would expose to the world that Hamas uses hospitals as an instrument of war.

The BBC has no way of verifying the claims made this evening.

Hagari showed himself in one video pointing to what he called a covert terror tunnel which reached 20m below ground.

He said an electrical panel and protruding cables proved solar panels had been powering a bunker and this was being explored further by an Israeli military robot. There was no further evidence presented for the existence of a command centre but Hagari said investigations continued.

Attention then shifted to the inside of the Rantisi hospital, which Hagari explained was a basement that was disconnected from the rest of the complex and had been used as an armoury.

In another room, a piece of rope next to a chair leg was highlighted as proof that hostages had been held here along with the existence of a poorly plumbed toilet.

In one of the final videos, Hagari drew back curtains to reveal a wall with no windows. He said this would have been intended to conceal the true location of the building in any films that Hamas would want to make.

A neat, makeshift calendar on the wall was said to bear the name that Hamas gave their 7 October attacks and the ensuing days had been ticked off.

Hagari said there were already enough signs to show that Hamas - and hostages had been in the hospital and that more investigations
were under way.

During the press conference, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari also said he had been to Gaza, to Rantisi children's hospital himself, and filmed what he described as "concrete evidence" that "Hamas uses hospitals as an instrument of war".

He said that in the basement under the Rantisi hospital, Israeli troops found "a Hamas command and control centre" where there were "suicide bomb vests, grenades, AK47 assault rifles, explosive devices, RPGs and other weapons, computers and money".

Hagari showed video of what he said was the entrance to a tunnel that was next to both a school and the hospital, with an electrical panel he said connected solar panels with wires that went down into the tunnel.

Video footage showed a deep shaft with a ladder down the side. "It's nothing else but a terror tunnel," Hagari told reporters.

Unfortunately you have to take everything the IDF says with a grain of salt. While its a strong probability that Hamas would doing something like that, the body count makes the point completely moot.

Had they gone about their business in a different way, and werent taking the orders from a far right war cabinet that makes it embarrassing to be Jewish, we probably would have a much easier time understanding how bad Hamas is. But as it stands, the Hospital could have a Hamas flag on it, and it wouldnt make a difference.

US says intelligence shows Hamas has base under Al-Shifa

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says the US has intelligence that Hamas has a command centre under Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

Kirby told reporters the intelligence shows that "Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad use some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Shifa, and tunnels underneath them to conceal and support their military operations and to hold hostages".

He said the groups have stored weapons under Al-Shifa and are "prepared to respond to an Israeli military operation against that facility".

Kirby added: "We do not support striking a hospital from the air and we do not want to see a firefight in the hospital where innocent people, helpless people, sick people are simply trying to get the medical care that they deserve, not to be caught in a crossfire. Hospitals and patients must be protected.

He said this points out how "challenging the military operation is. Hamas has deeply embedded itself within the civilian population. Israel has now an added burden given the way Hamas operates".

Finally, Kirby said that Hamass actions "do not lessen Israels responsibilities to protect civilians in Gaza" - and stated that the US is maintaining "active conversation" with the Israeli government about that.

Association is a hell of a thing. You didnt have college students at the University of Maryland putting up a Holocaust 2.0 banner at school if people agreed with that statement.

Hamas can be using hospitals and schools to stage attacks while at the same time Israel is using callous methods that cause vast amounts of unnecessary collateral damage.

Just think about this for a second.

Why would Israel waste resources and endanger Israeli lives by besieging a hospital? If they just want to kill the civilians, this is a pretty stupid fucking way of doing it. Israel at the very least believes Hamas is inside the hospital. They must have actionable intel to do so. They are letting civilians exit.

Even if one were to hypothetically take the concept of Israel as a holy land that belongs to the Jewish people as literal and factual (and as disclosure here, I only really know the Christian view on that claim), that does not mean the people currently in charge of it are the people who speak for all Jewish people.

Yeah well, if it was an isolated incident, I might agree with you. But its everywhere. Even you, sliding in some anti Israel comment into every god damn post, its just a constant barrage of the Jewish narrative is a false one, were the problem here, and the only way to be free of that is to distance ourselves from Israel as a whole. Not the Israeli government, but the whole damn thing. And then you have the extremists who think we all deserve to die.

Its just a constant flow of that kind of information to the point where it all sounds the same.
