I liked this show a lot but it seems not a lot of guys on this site really liked this show. It didn't get great ratings either iirc. Not ever cracking the top 100 in most viewed shows for the week it was on. Have read before that most smallville fans were very loyal, cause it changed stations and the time it was on many times, but were not that great in number.

Its a good show, with A LOT of bad episodes, bad characters, cringy dialogue, and was only saved by the fact that when it was good, it wasnt just good, it was fantastic. Michael Rosenbaum is clearly the best iteration of Lex Luthor weve ever seen.

yeah rosenbaum was great. Which episodes and stuff were great in your opinion? I thought most of them were pretty good. And had a much higher percentage of good episodes than the x files another show which had some special effects.

In my mind, Seasons 5, 7,8, and 9 were the best. Hated the monster of the week deal in season six and not a fan of that as a whole. Seasons 1 and 2 are almost watchable other than a few episodes.

Seasons 3 4 had a great beginning and end, but dragged in the middle. I was not a fan of the 10th season and there was a

yeah season 10 was very weak. Except the 2 mirror box episodes. What did you think of them? Those 2 were some of the greatest ones i've ever seen. Disappointing that this show didn't get higher ratings. Iirc howard stern said it was his favorite show ever. That guy has good taste

That's a good summarization of my thoughts too.

Lex Luthor and Papa Kent saved that show.

Edit: that said I didn't see the latter seasons.

I watched it on ABC Family since we didn't get The CW/ The WB on cable. It basically ended when Clark went to Metropolis, which sounded like it was maybe a good place to end.

The theme song was always stuck in my head.

Watched the first few seasons. Seemed like typical CW action/drama (emphasis on the latter) with Superman thrown in to catch an extra demo (I only really watched as much as I did because of Superman, so I guess it worked on me). Pretty boring anyway as CW drama and monster-of-the-week both arent really my thing but Im sure itd be pretty good to people who like that sort of thing.

Yeah I was watching it when I was in middle school 2002-2005 timeframe. Idk if abc family is a thing anymore honestly.

I do like the CW shows typically for the first few seasons then they get pretty bad. I stopped after a while with those but I imagine they would make me feel the same way as Smallville if I saw them through to the end.

Doom Patrol just had a good enough end. It was strongest in its first season though. Same with Titans. Invincible and the boys are my favorite but they probably aren't the most traditional comic shows.

not sure if cw is still around. smallville was originally on wb . If cw is stil around it is not huge or watched much iirc. Interesting thing the smallville creators said, they said that in today's time they don't believe that any network would pick up the show, or it couldn't be made. Which i found incredibly sad.

Never seen it as I have never had any interest in it.

The only time I have showed any interest in it was in the episode where they had The Duke Boys Bo and Luke Duke in it and the episode acknowledged that they had The Duke Boys in it by driving around in a Charger, Tom Wopat getting in through the window of his car and doing a couple of jumps.

Not seen the episode just watched the clips on Youtube.

I know this wasn't directed at me but I feel like answering,

The superhero TV shows I have enjoyed are:

Batman with the one and only Batman Adam West.

Wonder Woman with the one and only Wonder Woman Lynda Carter

The Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno

Lois And Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher

Yeah they got rid of their superhero shows. WB merged with UPN and became CW which had quite a few superhero shows in the same style as Smallville. That may have happened around the time Smallville ended. Green Arrow, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and supergirl.

It will be the last because Discovery has destroyed Warner Bros TV Division since buying the company, ending most shows early, canning projects left and right, and making it so some finished products ever see the light of day. It's pure evil.

Anyway Superman and Lois is a pretty good show. For a network Super hero show it had decent special effects. Mainly due to the shorter seasons. But it is the characterization of Superman that really makes it great. They just get the character.

Yes, lots. It's great because the cinematography, score, and acting are all good. The story is also interesting and it has done some very cool stuff with famous characters and storylines but it is Superman at its core.

No Disney owns National Geographic. Discovery is their own different ever growing beast. Worse then Disney at the moment given how much Discovery seems to hate scripted content.

I know it's fun to hate Disney. But really right now they are not the worst of the mega entertainment companies.

I enjoyed it off and on. Not something I could binge because 'Save Me' gets old fast, but also is so hype in that crossover with Supergirl where Barry & Oliver were switched

I enjoy the Talkville podcast, too, when I remember to catch up on it
