Knowing how scarce the resource is for many people in the world, I always feel bad when I pour out old water. :(

That's a good idea I guess. Somewhat related, I've always thought that watering your lawn was extremely wasteful

Yeah but that's toilet water, it comes from all the shitty lakes and rivers that no one likes so it's OK to waste it.

kidding obviously

Dump old water where, down the sink? It gets cleaned repurposed. And what else are you going to do with it, if your concern seems to be for people without water? Drinking it yourself, using it for something else, or dumping it still doesn't get those people water.

Of course, but the visual is me just upending and watching the water go do the drain brings to mind all those that would never dump out water if they had it

Yeah, depending on what's "old" about the water, it can be used for a lot of other things.

No, I pour water into a container for my house plants or into a rain barrel for my outdoor plants. We also collect water while waiting for the shower to get hot and use it to flush the toilet.

I try not to waste water.

Unless TC is trapping it in some subterranean crystal cave and sealing it off for millions of years, then yes.

Water put in a water bottle that sits for a few days. It's not okay to drink that.

It's been sitting in a cup for a few hours. Might have even been there for a day or two.

wait, what? as long as i wash the bottle regularly, i've never had a problem coming back and drinking from a closed bottle, even if the water sat in there for a few days.

does this mean you think bottled water is not okay to drink because it's been sitting in the bottle for months?

I haven't either, but it's still possible for bacteria to grow in there if it sits too many days

As long as the seal hasn't been broken then it's fine
