I haven't used a 2-in-1 for years now because my hair needs more conditioning. I typically use shampoo only a few times a week but use conditioner every day. I have to wash my hair because I work out in the morning. I'm female, btw, with longish hair that is very fine and very straight. It gets staticky in certain weather conditions, so conditioner is a must for me. Shampooing and conditioning are two completely different processes. They shouldn't be coming from the same bottle.
