I'm kind of nearing the fuck it territory where I just don't care lol. If I want to be safer, I will probably pick the Bengals or even the Bucs. If I don't care, Steelers or even the Bears.

We've reached the point where it's feels more about picking which team is going to lose versus picking a team to win.

There's about a half dozen teams I wouldn't pick, which in theory makes it easier. The safest pick this week is easily Dallas, because picking against the Giants every single week is likely to bring major success. But they're also looking to be a good pick for quite a few weeks coming up though, so it's just a matter of if you want to burn them now.

Bills

I'm heavily considering the Bears. If they somehow lose this game, no matter whether Bagent or Fields is starting, Eberflus and Getsy need to be fired. They won't, because the Bears never fire mid-season, but they can't lose this game. Need to keep the Panthers losing so that first round pick is super high! Cowboys are tempting here too, as I don't know if the Giants will score a TD ever again unless they give Saquon the ball 50 times.

Bills

Bengals

They're my best choice for this week, as I already used the Cowboys and Bills.

would have strongly considered atlanta if tune was starting but don't want to take ridder on the road against kyler murray. gonna lock in the bengals and likely stick with them, my only other consideration is the steelers at the moment and they seem riskier

also week 10 is the longest i made it in any previous season which only happened once when i went out week 10 according to the spreadsheets. most seasons i was out in the first couple weeks including the last two seasons. if i can advance to next week it will be a personal record at least

Me too I think, which is why as much as I'm tempted to pick the Bears, I don't think I can.

Cowboys

I already made a personal record when I made it through week 4, heh. The spreadsheet only goes back to 2014, and I'm pretty sure I participated in some earlier seasons than that where I lost early. Early weeks are hard, IMO, because you don't really know who's good yet much of the time.

Didn't even see the spreadsheet. Apparently I missed some years, and there were definitely some super early exits. Looks like the furthest I got was week 9 in 2019/2020, so this is now my new record!

I didn't participate during most of the years documented on the spreadsheet, but for years I appear on it this is definitely my best performance for duration into a season. By position I did get tied for 2nd on that weird season that saw all but six of us gone by Week 3. I actually remember the exact game that knocked me out on my best run from earlier, though:

I have been participating in this since 2008-ish when Rappinhobo was hosting this, but we didn't use spreadsheets back then, so I have no idea how everything shook out until I took over and immediately started the spreadsheet. I do remember that my best finish was a tie for 2nd the year that John Skelton and the Cardinals upset the Eagles as that eliminated everyone but azuarc.

the cowboys is definitely the best pick this week imo. the giants should be the definite fade from here on as long as they are starting devito. unfortunately i used the cowboys early on

well week 10 seems to be my peak. thought about steelers but really thought bengals could get the win. goes to show fading a great qb is always dangerous

I had the Bengals on my short list this week but the Texans are a frisky team and Cowboys against a shit ass Giants team wasn't one I could really pass up. To win, you've got to continue to survive, and that means being risk averse until necessary.

I had strongly considered going with the Bengals this week and saving the Cowboys for their game against the Panthers next week to get the best chance of setting a new personal record getting to Week 12. But right as I was going to lock in with the Bengals I didn't feel right about it and defaulted to safest pick possible.

That said if the Cowboys blow a 14 point lead to Tommy DeVito it will be the funniest thing ever.
