Very cute and chippy little track. This one's got a nice melody that pops. With that slow and dramatic intro, Dodo's Lair is set up to be quite the iconic piece. I remember that I used to be "eh" about this one, but I've found myself appreciating it the more I listen. Wow this one starts out heavy. At first I didn't really vibe, but it definitely gets stronger the more the melody shines. The simpler, cleaner vibes of the Dodo are more my speed. Simpler to latch onto, but not so simple I'd be tricked into this was an actual NES or GB song. Kinda ended too soon tho. Third match is both brilliant and eyebrow raising. Idk how to talk about jingles. Dodo one better. Yay. Short and simple write-ups today. This kind of music isn't really "my thing" even though I'm liking what I'm hearing well enough. Base Steel Works Sizzle - [blank line here if additional contents after] Base is most assuredly not basic. It is simply and purely fun. It makes me want to hang out with whoever's base this is; I know I'd be in for a good time. Dodo's lair has an interesting intro, but sorta chills for ten seconds before unleashing the melody. And what a melody it is. I really like the countermelody here too, it just plays with the main melody in that great way a good countermelody does. That said, I do have one complaint: I think it needed to land into something broad after the fast section, rather than just looping. It makes the song feel incomplete. "Inactivated Frozen" is a very strange title. Software cannot freeze if it's inactive? As for the song itself, I think the rhythm overpowers the actual melody in a way that's really unfortunate. I might have liked the song, otherwise. Sizzly is such a surfer song that it kinda urks me? But I still enjoy it more. I refuse to vote in the third match and am frustrated this was the choice. Steel Works Sizzle Stage Complete Glad Sean "Cosmicgem" Bialo will win no matter what :-) Base - 4 - upbeat lobby music. Something about the rhythm or tempo doesn't sit right with me. It seems caught in this awkward middle ground. dodo's lair - 8.5 - Holy heck this song is so good. Well I already added it to my favorites a while back, but man it's nice to appreciate it again here. It's such good funky chiptune. Or like someone doing a banger guitar solo but on chiptune Idk what the sounds at :49 are called.. sounds like something from streets of rage, but yeah that's awesome. The layering of sounds is superb as well. Inactivated Frozen - 5- menacing. This one has a nicer melody/rhythm combo than base. Steel Works Sizzle - 8 - the starting and stopping of this song is actually pretty cool. Reminds me of like a rocket launching off and engaging in a high tech space battle mission clear - ok Stage Complete - 5.5 - little jingle at the end is cute --- Sucking at something is the first step to being sorta good at something. - Jake the dog ...
