I think they are talking about blocking appointments that are specifically trump loyalists.

I understand that there is a long process and a lot of checks in the way for people to get into these high levels but it wouldn't surprise me if they try to work around that to install loyalists. They've already tried before.

It's being reported as a "single member" (Tuberville), but the Majority Leader needs 60 Senators to force a vote. What's really going on is that Tuberville has the support or indifference of at least 41 of the 49 Republicans in the Senate to keep his blockade on the vote.

Tuberville's just the frontman, IMO. I doubt he's smart enough to have cooked this up himself, but that's another thread. He needs at least 41 of the Republican caucus behind him to do this.

The media has been derelict in its failure to explain this.

Literally promising a fascist military state, and yet polls get worse and worse for Biden.

The general electorate in this country is so fucking idiotic and short-sighted, but at least this previous election once again showed that the polls are bullshit and surveying a tiny portion of a few communities does not actually speak for the majority, contrary to what the concept of polling tells us.

Cause according to polling the last 3 elections should have been bad for Dems, yet here we are.

Trump's entire presidency showed us his policy is to do whatever he wants and see who tries to stop him.

Is it illegal? He doesn't care, who's gonna stop him?

Is there precedent saying what he's doing is wrong? He doesn't care, who's gonna stop him?

We're finally seeing the first form of accountability for his atrocious time as POTUS and even that's gonna be weaker than whatever he actually deserves.

I don't follow the news as much now. For progressive media mostly stuff like TYT, but I swear they haven't even talked about this.

All 4 of the progressive pundits I listen to on SiriusXM's Progress channel have talked about it frequently.

They may be "biased" because they're progressive, but they're also the only media I've seen give the actual truth and consequences of what the either party says/does.

I sometimes listen to the center-right channel there just to see what the other side has to say, and they frequently apologize for Republican behavior/actions or just don't ask any sort of follow-up questions while Republicans blatantly lie to their face. Their town halls they've hosted for Repub candidates have also been suckfests. They also do this thing where they talk about the "small extreme minority within the Republican Party", yet they consider people like Nancy Mace to be "moderate voices", because she lies to the media like a moderate and votes like every other Christo-fascist.

I read some polls now and I just shake my head. I know that the GOP has waged a diabolical, decades long propaganda/lies campaign that has (very sadly) effectively brainwashed a sizable chunk of the country. I know the GOP is utterly corrupt and willing to lie about anything and engage in voter suppression to keep power. And I even know that Joe Biden is not the most inspiring candidate.

But at some point, the electorate in this country I love so much has to stop being so stupid and easily manipulated. Trump and MAGA have been so obviously corrupt and evil since day one. Trump has been screaming exactly who he is since well before he entered politics, and his cult has been scary and cheering obvious fascism for a long time.

If we cant manage to at least keep the obvious criminal and death cult away from power at the ballot box, in the face of utterly transparent GOP lies, this country will have earned the hellscape that will be a Trump second term.

Anyone could see this coming in 2016, it is still obvious to see now, and the US electorate still votes with a collective head where the sun dont shine. It is ridiculous.

But voters favorite ride is the pendulum.

I imagine Biden will win, but it shouldn't even be this close. Even when winning you feel like you need a breather.
