It looks like another new Trial, on a brand new day. Two vague shapes are missing, however. One had already vanished the prior night; the other lies in front of a fallen pallet, unmoving but unharmed; the soul has apparently left his body. PunishedBen has been eliminated! He was... DANNY JOHNSON, Smirking Analytical WHAZZUPP????!!?? You are a newspaper reporter, current alias "Jed Olsen," who committed a string of murders in Utah and Pennsylvania before moving to Roseville, your last residence before the Fog took you. Before that, you were a creature of habit, methodically studying your targets, seemingly at random, while relishing in the attention and success your night job lent to your career - almost like a twisted inversion of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Eventually, as careful as you were, evidence began to point at "Jed's" involvement in the Ghost Face killings, and you rabbited again. The Fog took you before the police did, and you entered it happily - plenty of new, interesting projects to track in the Trials, and a new story to tell, one day. Smirking: The typical Ghost Face mask contains hollow black eyes and a soundless, screaming grimace. Your current rubber mask's eyes almost appear bloodshot (without any blood), and a rubber tongue is hanging out of the mouth. WHAZZUPP????!!?? Analytical: You methodically study your target's routines and patterns to properly plan out a good, spectacular death - later. Much later. When this is over. As a night action, you may target a player. Your target's Survivor form will be revealed to you, if successful. As before, the form shimmers and becomes something new - a fallen policeman. He was also... DAVID TAPP, SOLO QUEUE Inquisitive I'll be honest. Your host doesn't much care for the Saw series. Maybe it says something about his mentality when it comes to the inevitability of death, but the whole "torture yourself this way to certainly die or torture yourself this way to maybe die but certainly cripple yourself mentally" is just abhorrent to him. I'm sure the lore is fascinating when it comes to horror flicks, but I just can't get beyond the cringe-factor of it. So anyways, you are a younger knockoff of Danny Glover (due to failing to secure the likeness), a police detective who entered the Fog while at Death's door from confronting the Jigsaw killer (after your partner fell prey to a trap involving four shotguns trying and failing to raid Jigsaw's lair.) Your obsession with ferreting out the truth can get you into almost as much trouble as the Jigsaw killer's victims, but you put your sleuthing skills to good use during the current Trials. Inquisitive: Your cowboy cop attitude is sometimes at odds with your policework, and the more you suspect someone, the closer you get to your own demise. You may DM the host with a night action at a target to find out something about them. The more you wish to learn, the closer you have to get, putting yourselves in harm's way. This night action must specify how close your stakeout must be. ##stakeout 1 <target> will provide you with a trait of your target, at no extra danger to you. ##stakeout 2 <target> provides you with information on how many traits the target has in total, and will inform you if your result has been tampered with in some way (but not in what manner.) You will be noticed doing this. Finally, ##stakeout 3 <target> guarantees a true result on all trait identities, provides a full description of one of them, and tells you what manner of tampering has occurred, if any. This will alert the Kill Your Friends team that you've been snooping about, even if you were targeting a Solo Queue player. If you have been found out, any stakeouts on the Kill Your Friends team will result in your death. This investigation is compulsory - if you are able to, you must try to make this stakeout. Failure to attempt the action makes you continue to observe your current target at a higher stakeout level, or randomly chooses a target with stakeout 1 if you fail to take the action. He gets a reward for killing (lies about this to town), the punishment for sparing is telling the spared player his identity, which sounds like a specific drawback for scum. He tried to get out ahead of it by claiming before the chain hunt started. IIRC there was no mention of the chain hunt ending the day early when it resolved. JC did you know that killing FD there would end the day? I asked you a question about what would happen if we lynched you after someone picked up the box, and you conveniently chose to not answer that question. Hiding the flip as well seems like a scummy role interaction as well. I imagine how the role is designed is that everything was anonymous, and JC could have chosen to not out himself at all, but wanted to try and use it as a confirmation tool. But I obviously can't be too sure on this. I did think FD was scum yesterday, but for MYLO/LYLO counting purposes, we have to assume he was town and offered himself up because of the supposed poison, so I think it will just be safe to assume FD was town, and he was going to die anyway, so we can at least take that as a silver lining that we maybe "wasted" scum's extra kill. If that is true about the poison though, then that does point to JC being town? Because he wouldn't take the bad press of killing FD there if he knew for sure FD was already going to die? Unless he really wanted that Untargettable I guess. I dunno, I feel like I'm only gonna talk myself in circles here. Ben was another confirmed town on the Ashethan lynch D1. I imagine how the role is designed is that everything was anonymous, and JC could have chosen to not out himself at all, but wanted to try and use it as a confirmation tool.
