I mean, I'm voting for Biden because LGBTQ rights are DOA without the Democrats. But that's the really big issue that's important to me. The other wild thing in my opinion is how it's apparently acceptable to apply political pressure or will for the rights of women and the LGBT community in the states, but if you want the government to not be chummy with an apartheid government, you apparently gotta shut the fuck up.

The other party tried to overthrow the country and could have flung us into a civil war. And their plans for 2025 and beyond to centralize power to the executive and fire anyone in the government who isn't a trump goon is fully out in the open. You should really take a moment and introspect on what that might look like if he wins.

And if that costs Biden the election, his opponent will surely cut support for Israel, demand Palestinians be treated humanely, continue funding Ukraine's fight against their Russian aggressors, ensure women regain bodily autonomy, and strengthen the institutions that uphold American democracy.

None of this precludes Democrats from trying to earn votes.

This has nothing to do about who is doing what to earn votes. This is about how you owe it to yourself to fight fascism in any way that you can. And some times you lack the ability to make meaningful changes and that's ok. That doesn't excuse you from doing what you can do, however, which is to use your vote to make sure fascists win as little as possible.

Democrats help fascists. So if the choices are between fascism and helping fascism, it's not really a choice. Democrats need to get the message that this is not okay. Guaranteeing your votes isn't the way to do that.

You send them the message by smaller competitive races where they can lose to progressives. Eventually, when most of the party is progressives, the president will also be progressive.

It goes in circles because you don't understand that guaranteeing your vote is just about the dumbest strategy one can have if you want to teach a politician a lesson. Their interest in you begins and ends with your vote and even then, democrats have shown that they'd rather lose than let progressive policies through.
