Current Events > Creed 3 was pretty good. The entire trilogy is actually good.

You know exactly what to expect from these movies and they deliver; cool training montages, thrilling boxing fights, and some powerful performances.

Why does the 3rd movie always have the character retire and come out of retirement... skyfall, tdkr, it's like a reoccurring pattern... except this time the movie was actually entertaining.

I don't really understand how boxing works, does him becoming the champion automatically make him rich and have a penthouse and entire posse and also ladies?

I haven't seen Creed 2 or Creed 3, but the first Creed is one of my favorite movies.

I should give the sequels a chance.

High profile boxing matches pay a lot. Pacquiao supposedly made ~$120 million just for losing against Mayweather.

Im a huge Rocky fan and grew up on those movies in the 80s but as much as I love the franchise Ive never actually seen any of the Creed movies. To be fair though I only ever watched the 2006 Rocky Balboa movie once and kind of decided Id still watch and love the old movies but it soured me on any new release as I thought it was a pretty poor entry.

I only thought the first really stood out. In 2 Drago was a better and more interesting character and 3 felt pretty unnecessary. They aren't really bad I just don't care much for them.

Tyson Fury has been making $10-65 million per fight as of late.

I thought the 3rd movie would have him fight with the son of Mr T and I was so sure of it but then they went in another direction. I liked it.

Yes, anytime Floyd Mayweather would have a high profile boxing match, he would make more money than even Ronaldo and Messi.

I get what you're talking about, but Dame wasn't ever a three dimensional. He was always one dimensional, just wanted to use Adonis as a stepping stool to get the title shot and also as a way to get back at him. Though I do agree, I really did wish they made Dame into a more fleshed out character. The best part about the final match was when it goes "anime" when you don't hear or see the crowd and only see the both of them fight in the ring in silence. Made the fight more personal, which really made the fight work because it was also personal as well.

Ah ok. So my other question is, there isn't like a league or tournament to determine fighters, it's literally just if someone challenges the heavy weight champion he automatically gets to fight him and win? No set of mini-bosses to fight before getting to the final form? So as long as you got connections and someone to help you get your foot in the door, you can just make bank?

Kinda makes it hard to determine the best. Why, if Dame beat Drago, but lost to Creed, and Creed beat Dame but let's say lost to Drago, then who would be champ. Not to mention someone having an off day or something I dunno

Yes there are leagues, but it doesn't work like it does with other sports like NBA where you have to compete to get into the play-offs. Normally you box in the amateur league first and then hopefully get lucky you attract a headhunter, sponsor, connections/network, etc. so they can represent you to get you gigs to find other boxers to fight, especially big names that will guarantee you big money. Which is why it was a big deal for Dame to fight Chavez, to get Chavez title and spring board himself into fame. It can literally be a rags to riches kind of story.

Not at all and thats why boxing is such a joke. The champions try and avoid fighting anyone who might beat them and just fight bums look at Tyson Fury since winning the title. He didnt want the rematch with Wilder but was forced to because they put a clause in the contract they signed to make the second fight happen. Since then hes fought bums and has avoided top guys like Joshua and Usyk like the plague. From time to time the boxing boards will say someone is a mandatory contender for the title but thats few and far between because they acknowledge theyd rather have someone popular holding the title than force someone boring to potentially win it.

He fought a complete boxing novice in Nganou last weekend and got completely embarrassed and had to rely on a biased judge panel to get a split points victory.

Same happens with Mayweather. He ducked Pacquio for so long until Pacquio was well passed his best. Last boxer I had any respect for was Joe Calzaghie who fought everyone and was undefeated his entire career. Even went to the US cause they wouldnt go to wales and embarrassed your boys completely.

Why so many posts claiming they liked the first Creed but haven't bothered to see 2 or even 3? I mean they're pretty consistent, surprisingly so. And also weirdly you actually need to see the past movies to get this one, I completely forgot some of the characters and had to quickly skim through 1 and 2 so I could be like "oh that character right I remember" in 3.
