Stopping myself from buying SM2 at the moment cause I really want to play it but always like to wait for price drops.....might have to make an exception for this one though

Not often. These days, it seems like day-one buyers are unpaid beta testers and I would rather get the games once theyre optimized and have the DLC available. Although l am recently finding that DLC for stuff is way expensive and theyre not offering as good bundles

From Software and Fire Emblem are always pre-orders for me. Gust maybe half the time. Anyone else can wait for a sale

If I want a game I'm as likely to buy it day one as any other day.

• It's an Atlus game (they become hard to find and go for insane prices after that)
• It's a Nintendo game (they're always full price)

this year, I pre-ordered: Baldur's Gate 3, Spider-Man 2, and Alan Wake 2, just so I could pre-install them.

besides that, I don't mind waiting.

Depends on if Im currently playing something or waiting on something. I tend to play 1 game at a time to completion. Ive bought a lot of games day 1 though.

Depends on the game. GTA6 is day 1. Not sure about the rest.

Not super often, so far this year I've bought Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo IV (lol me), and Baldur's Gate 3 on Day 1

Over the past year-ish I bought Pokemon Scarlet, Tears of the Kingdom, Sea of Stars, and Mario Wonder on their release dates, but they're also only the 4 most recent games I bought.

Only if it's something just coming out of beta that I've already seen a few hours of gameplay video for from some YouTubers, and it's under 20 bucks. I don't think I buy games day 1 anymore unless they fit into my budget of being either free or cheap.

Only Switch games because they never go on big sales. Everything else I wait for the inevitable cheap price.

It has to be something I REALLY want. Or a fighting game I'm going to compete in.

Got SM2 release day, will get the next two Yakuza games on release day, everything else I know of in the next near future - I can get em whenever. Like Mario or MGS Collection or whatever.

Not many times. I did get MK1 on open day and I wish I had night.

Before Tears of the Kingdom, DOOM Eternal was the last game I bought day 1. Both great decisions on my part.

I would have bought Elden Ring day 1, and that would have been a great decision, too. But I was trying to abstain from video games at the time.
