2.4 band is called wifi and 5 band is called wifi backbone

all iot devices are on the 2.4 band and things like laptops are on the wifi backbone

OnyxCedar was the name of our first wifi router and I stuck with that name. There are some interesting wifi names around me though. One of my faves is FinkaMyAshhole. I still wonder who that one belongs to.

I was at work and so my mom was there back when it was being installed, and the only thing she could think of that I might use was "Pokemon." I just never bothered to change it.

2.4 is The BatRouter, 5 is Skynet Global Defense Network. Before that it was Legitimate Business Router and Illegal Activities, but those names got me some weird looks/questions, so when I replaced the router they got names I thought were mildly amusing at the time.

MegaSquirrel

See, I name all my computers and stuff after rodents, so my first WiFi system was FlyingSquirrel. Then I got a little portable 3G router and that became MiniSquirrel. And then I got a larger 3G router but I wanted it to stay separate from the other WiFi system, so it became MegaSquirrel. Eventually I phased out the old 802.11b access point and converted the router to be just an access point, but I kept the name. And since everything I have uses MegaSquirrel and it would be a pain in the butt to change 50 or 60 devices, it's sort of stuck with that name, even after replacing the APs a couple times.
