Wait a minute, who the hell is Skeleton Jack? That's Jack Skel...

Okay, seriously. What's going on? They call him Skeleton Jack at least twice. For the most part, they just call him Jack. Unless I missed it, they never once call him Jack Skellington. I've been lied to for 30 years.

I didn't say that the past was different from what I remembered I said I was lied to. (Which, it turns out, I was not.) That's not the same thing.

...It's literally the same thing. By saying you were "lied to," that implies X didn't happen. X is what people remembered. And, as it turns out, X is, indeed, what happened. Thus, you were implying the Mandela Effect occurred (implying things were different than how people remembered them.) However, you were wrong. Why you're acting surprised that people started to question things based on what you said is... Bizarre, and, based on this post, I now have to assume... Trolling.

The lie is that his name is Jack Skellington when the movie only ever called him Skeleton Jack, Jack, or the Pumpkin King.

I was being facetious. It's not unheard of for characters to receive their official name in marketing after a movie has come out. Annabelle from All Dogs Go to Heaven was listed only as the Whippet Angel in the movie's credits and Toxie from The Toxic Avenger was only ever called the monster or referred to by his human name: Melvin. I would also lump in Rexy from the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World series, but that was her nickname in the original novel. It just took thirty years before they decided to canonize it in merch and advertising.

At no point did I remotely imply that the past had somehow shifted.

I'm sorry that someone else recently made a Mandela Effect topic, but that's not where this one was going.

Yeah, Mandela Effect people are just in denial that they could be wrong about something. If you misremember something and correct yourself, thats just normal.

He's called both Skeleton Jack and Jack Skellington at different points in the movie.
