as long as the launcher/target isn't the US/Russia or a NATO country it might stay contained. but if a NATO country gets nuked and there's no retaliation that completely invalidates NATO, so...

lol. Israel has them and of all nations on the planet right now, they, along with Russia pose the greatest threat. Two questionably moral nuclear powers that are at war. I don't know how else to simplify that. No one's saying they're going to use them, but if there's a risk, it's coming from there.

The Doomsday Clock is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard of. We'll never know how close we actually are to doomsday until it happens.

EDIT: Apparently the furthest we've ever been from Midnight was when the Cold War ended, and that was 17 minutes. So clearly our starting point isn't 0:01, but 23:43.
