i changed my lighting situation around and now whenever i use the xacto knife i get eye blasted from reflections. i wonder if they make any black craft knife blades that are worth a damn

knockoff jiu arrived

the molding looks fairly decent to my eye, but i never took any runner out of the plastic and inspected it closer. there's a little tiny piece of paper, in all chinese, that i'm assuming is telling me that two pieces on the runners numbers should be switched, but that's not really an issue.

taking a look at the instructions, and it's just a carbon copy of the official jiu ones. i looked up the official one, and only difference is the cover, and the part of the page that is like "here's all the legal, use nippers, here's the runners in the box for reference" aren't there. the sticker sheet looks fairly dull, but there is also a bigass waterslide sheet, as well as a generic action base 6 complete with little tiny itty bitty screwdriver

they all seem to be the same thing but they all have slightly different names and it's very confusing to me

They'll all work, just make sure it says gloss if you want gloss and matte/flat if you want matte/flat

i have made a series of really stupid mistakes, which resulted in the end of my, apparently only, black gundam marker

so the stickers with this thing suck. i'm at the helmet, having done everything but weapon and chest

and the face is two stickers for the permet lines, okay, but they suck, and this is also a round thing that has etching gaps so it's just a mess. i had the idea to dab a little bit of clear nail polish on it and then try and get the sticker to stick that way, and it ended up not working, because of course it wouldn't

anyways, so i decided to ditch the stickers i would just color it in, in black.

so i washed off the piece, gave it a 99 isoalch bath for a bit to dissolve the nail polish

apparently it did not dissolve all of it, and when i went to color it in after drying for a few seconds since it's alcohol and dries fast. it looked dried and fine. then i went to panel it and it just wasn't going, because apparently the alcohol didn't do shit to the polish in the nooks n crannies, so i ended up just sealing the marker. i can probably fix it by dipping into acetone but i don't really think i care all that much

i don't intend to panel this, but if i decided to change my mind i at least wanted to have the head done because that's usually the hardest for me after it's built, but i am stupid, so

i really don't get it. i'm supposed to tidy it up with the eraser, but it just does what it says, and fully erases the panel too. i'm just dabbing it on a qtip

but these? these are nice, they make some things real easy. gallantmons shield lettering really was the thing i needed the most to make me go "i get it". just three or four little dabs and it's paneled. and yeah, some are a little messy, but they would have been messier if i tried to manually line them, i guarantee it

i feel like it's time to edit my little storage things on the table, but i can't figure out what i'd even want to change. i've made notice of what i use and tend to not use, but i'm unsure how to change anything and i cannot verbalize what i'm trying to mean

so, the spot i keep the sanding sticks in the main like, unit. i don't use them hardly ever, so i don't really need them at fingers reach. what i do use a lot is the markers, and while i could redesign a place to put the pour type ones and maybe redesign it to also store like, the files, i could just...take the sanding sticks out, and put the markers in their spot. they fit just fine
