rg hi nu has three massive runners that i don't know how to handle in my setup

the only reason i didnt irreparably destroy this piece is because i am incompetent and fucked the cut up but in fact i didnt want to cut it at all

these being the same scale really fucks with my head

especially the when compared to the hg hi nu

lol they made it bigger so they could have more PG style gimmicks

i haven't worked on it today so there's still just the legs

but god damn they look good

i paneled a few spots on them, but honestly i don't even think it was necessary because everything is layered excellently to where there's just natural shadows that bring out the details

does anyone here have suggestions for some basic kits? I've built two cheap ones (like $15-25 kits) and wanna try another one.
are the neon genesis evangelion kits decent? I see lots of unit 01 models online and I love that show

The RG Eva kits are supposed to be really good

it's kind of subjective, the kits i like you might not.

for a cheap good stuff, the entry grade lah and galaxy whatever that just came out last month are great. lah is basic basic, the other is more hg

you can't really go wrong with any of the kits from witch from mercury, just maybe stay away from some of the non-gundam ones except for like, gundvolva and darrilbalde. the multiple dilanza clones are...not that fun

i expected this, because plastic'll shrink n expand, so it's not unusual, but i'm not sure what to do from here. i suppose just break out the dremel and start cleaning up but meh, kinda wish it just worked

it works, but the lock tabs are not the easiest to unlock and relock, more the nature of just 3d printing and tolerances, but it works...ish

probably not the best use case, since rg hi nu mounts to a base weird, never seen another kit mount from the back like that

i've learned that the fake nu core set wont work on the core gundam version i have now, since it will need like arm extension things, which mine didn't come with since it's...an older version or some shit

and the fake nu set is really meant for the alus core gundam version which will have the arm extensionators

or something

this whole system is so fucking confusing with core gundam, core gundam g3 colors , core gundam 2, core gundam 2 g3 whatever

i'll figure it out when it gets here

the pink runners on this qubely are insanely thick and dense and strong, jesus.

i really enjoyed this build actually, the insane runner notwithstanding

it's essentially a bi color kit, even though there's like 6 colors, but the key in it was its simplicity, nothing felt like a chore to create and i can't say that about very many of the ones i've done

also it has a neck and it gets real weird

i've decided to modify the back manual holder i have, by just removing the arbitrary window in it to save on printing time, as well as just shortening it

to use as a catch-all for extra pieces. i can just nip em out, and sweep them over to the back edge next to the books and just store them there until it's full and dump them into the box of every other piece

because i've been using the extra holder on the right of the table to store in-progress pieces, but it's pretty much over flown with extraneous shit on it, least of which is just dumping spare pieces in

it's also a lot harder to take that one off to just dump it
