Diablo 4 is a shitty game with literally no end game but they tricked a lot of people into buying the game. I think it's 5 times worse launch than Cyberpunk 2077 but no one talking about the Diablo 4 disaster. Blizzard are very happy though cause they already got 90% of the money they will get from Diablo 4 now and until Diablo 5 when they trick people into buying a crappy game again.

For all the shit D4 deserves, at least it was functional on all platforms it was released on.

The Cyberpunk incident wouldn't have been nearly as bad if they could have abandoned the last gen consoles and not forced to make it work.

D4 is already a dead game

Cdpr is capable of so much more than what they gave.

On the other hand, if Blizzard disappoints you, that's on you. You should know better.

For all the hate they got, I honestly think D4 is a worse game than D3 and Diablo Immortal. D3 was a functional game with bad balance. The RMAH got way more hate than it deserved, d2jsp is still going strong in D2R. The items were more exciting than D4, the itemization was better and more interesting, and he endgame was much better paced.

Diablo Immortal is actually a better game than D4, just with really shitty monetization. The biggest thing is that the game guides you much better: you're encouraged to PvP, raid, do dungeons, do open world, do events, etc because those things make the game money. Itemization is better, skills are more interesting, communication is better. Even the art is arguable, the character creation is LEAGUES above D4.

Blizzard did get shit for it. They've been getting shit for it since it launched. At this point people have just moved on from caring about it at all.

I came to say this.

Cyberpunk was a broken mess on PS4/Xbox and was buggy but Diablo 4 doesn't have that excuse.

Because anyone that buys Blizzard garbage at this point deserves what they get.

Cyberpunk was promising the world pre release basically. Diablo 4 was promising Diablo, but new.

To me Cyberpunk missing the mark was to be expected. D4 missing the mark is just... how? How do you fuck up the formula at launch for two major releases in a row?

Here's the sad truth of it all.... Diablo Immortal is just a better game than Diablo 4. There, I said it. Diablo Immortal dungeon design is better, the end bosses are better, and the game just looks better overall.

Don't get me wrong, D4s story is great, but everything else is just half assed. It's twice the size it should be at launch, with 4x the amount of dungeons it needs, and incredibly unbalanced.

Uhhmmm... people are. There was a recent topic about D4 possibly coming to Steam and there were a lot of people just posting about how they hate D4 and Blizzard.

I think people need to care about D4 in order to be outraged by it.

This is also true. A lot of people had their fun, were upset for a little while at stupid changes, then... pretty much everyone I know who plays out just stopped. No anger, no memes, no cheap shots at it, just... it didn't matter any more.

Oh, don't get me wrong, the micro transactions are out of control. But the bare bones base game, Diablo Immortal just has a crap ton more to offer. The dungeons are extremely interesting. D4 could have just had 15 solid dungeons with intricate designs and it would have been fine.

Nobody likes Blizzard anymore. People liked CDPR before the release of Cyberpunk.

Still nobody remembers D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, also by SWERY.

D4 is just boring. Flat out.

Different problems, different solutions, different reaction.

Cyberpunk was a huge disappointing mess, from a technical pov.
Diablo 4 had a lack of endgame, in form of content.

People knew that fixing Cyberpunk is going to be hard.
People hoped that the endgame of Diablo 4 was going to be delivered with the start of season 1.

In the end, people were able to enjoy Diablo 4 for some time, but Cyberpunk was unenjoyable for many.

Easy as that.

I dunno if it's worse than Cyberpunk at launch. There is and was content at launch for D4, it just wasn't that good after the main story. I beat the story, hit 50 or whatever it was, went to one of the end game areas for about 5 minutes and then uninstalled the game.
