They were openly talking about quitting, being underpaid, leaving the medical profession. What was once convenient for having everything youd need under one roof has been replaced by doctors that try to usher you out the door before youre even in an examination room. They dont have the time to actually engage with or listen to their patients. Its a five minute appointment followed by them printing out a bunch of useless information and sending you on your way. I have a hiatal hernia that has led to me having crippling reflux and heartburn for years now Im talking heartburn that lasts for 18 to 36 hours straight, keeps me up at night, etc., and every time I go to my doctor, they just up my dosage of pantoprazole. I had a specialist that refused to believe that the problem I was diagnosed with from a ultrasound was affecting my quality of life, so I made an phone appointment with the department for a different specialist. Second specialist took one look at my charts and referred me to the surgical procedure that I wanted.
