It wouldn't even have mattered if they used an original character that was black instead. The same people would still be complaining. They aren't offended that this was an existing character, they're offended by black skin, period.

Anyway, choppy animation and poorly-timed self-aware humor are among the legitimate complaints.

But both gripes were dumb anyways. The former for obvious reasons. The latter because in the game he was just a dumb stereotypical crazy and flamboyant evil villain and in the Netflix adaptation he was one of the best characters in the series with a well told arc.

I couldn't even keep watching. It felt so... forcefully smug and melodramatic? Like if Black Dynamite was taking itself 100% seriously.

Because if they're not going to be faithful to the source material, respect the lore or the fans then they can fuck off. Might as well make their own IP if all they want is a name to latch on all their garbage ideas.

The problem I have with it is that it's not an accurate adaptation of the video games. My favorite character from Castlevania III was removed completely from the show while a new OC was added. It feels like someone else had a story they wanted to tell and used the popular Castlevania IP to get it off the ground.

I honestly dont think its made for Castlevania fans. I love this series but I cant be bothered to watch the Netflix show anymore. I gave it a shot but it wasnt for me.

Only thing that struck me as odd was the sheer amount of forced profanity.

I'm not a prude, swearing doesn't bother me but it's jarring when they go out of their way to drop f bombs like there's no tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of the show and I honestly wish they would knock this off.

Even Death in Season 4 has a potty mouth. Granted I think it comes from him spending so much time pretending to be a vagrant hobo vampire, but it still just seemed silly seeing this Elderitchian horror monster drop F bombs.

This is the biggest mystery behind the show. Like, fans are mad they fleshed out characters and built a world. They literally want the entire show to be a Belmont or Alucard exploring rooms in a castle.

Something thats actually Castlevania? Its painfully obvious the writers Wikipediad everything about the series. Im pretty sure they even admitted it themselves at some point.

Obviously, if a Zelda adaptation was made, youd want to see Link go on actual adventures. Most of the fans wouldnt be happy if it was centered around Hyrule politics.

Like I said, this series isnt for me. I dont particularly care enough to keep going on about this series. If people enjoy it, good for them.

I can't believe we literally have secondaries admitting they're not knowledgeable telling fans to be quiet about their complaints. Some of us DO like the lore and the series; you know those of us who play the games.
