I was more annoyed at how the romance felt out of nowhere and forced. Annette was pissed and talking shit about Richter when he ran off. Then he comes back with magic and suddenly all is ok and they have the hots for each other? WTF?

I fucking love the lore of Castlevania. The origin story of Dracula and Leon Belmont. The generational war between Dracula and the Belmonts. Alucard. The passing down of the vampire killer to the Morris family, the same Morris from the novel lol. The lore of the world war on Dracula. And then Soma Cruz. Its great.

Honestly they did a good job adapting Trevors story even though his was a NES game with little story, but still they used source material for his backstory, where at that point the Belmont name was dragged through the mud and it was him who redeemed it. Which really makes me question the claim that no one on the Netflix team played or is a fan of the games.

The "respect the lore!" people are hilarious. The Castlevania games have a plot, sure. But come on... it's not deep enough or compelling enough to make 40+ episodes of television without adding/changing things. This ain't Lord of the Rings here. For most of the games the story is like 1 page in the instruction manual. Yall want whole episodes of nothing but characters whipping skeletons and dodging medusa heads? That's like 2/3rds of the "plot" in a typical Castlevania game.

Exactly. Take LoI for example. Leon goes to castle to rescue his gf. She gets cursed and cant save her. Somehow killing her enables the creation of the legendary vampire killer whip. Leon goes to kill the castles ruler. AND THIS IS A PS2 GAME.

Do you "fans" understand how LAZY and SIMPLE these stories are? There is really no thought put into them. And this is why the netflix adaptations are so good. They made a somewhat coherent story from what little meat there was in the games story bones. Add wonderful animation, music, badass characters and you have a critically acclaimed show.

Now Lords of Shadows was a real attempt at a story. Too bad part 2 wasn't as good due to meddling from Konami.

He probably wants the 2D plane walking, Belmonts being macho men devoid of personality, female characters being background characters devoid of personality, and Belmonts finding porkchops in random walls to heal themselves with.

Sounds like your average episode of Bleach, especially after Soul Society Arc.

Maybe that's what they really want, though?

Not having Grant is what killed any hope for the show for me. The threesome was the nail in the coffin.

Lets be real. If they created a new character in place of black Annette they would still complain about wokeness by having a black character with a back story about slavery.

They can stay miserable for all I care.
