managers are largely there to keep the clubhouse together and do what the FO wants them to do

it isnt like roberts was mismanaging the bullpen or w/e people typically use against managers. their SPs were all garbage (which everyone knew to begin with) and then the bats went cold. what is roberts supposed to do. "hey mookie... can you get a hit bro? freddie?" it was just a bad three games. firing a manager off THREE games where players played like shit out of 165 is insane.

maybe. point stands tho. the least likely thing to happen will happen a shitload of times. there were 40,118 non triple hits and 41,843 strikeouts. only 721 triples. pretty big difference. still lots of triples tho dude. you gotta admit.

kind of like how the dbacks beating the dodgers in 3 was the least likely to happen. or mookie and freddie going 1-21. and they combined for 5 batted balls going 95+ mph but none of those managed to be a hit. brandon pfaadt being perfect through 4. all of this is pretty unlikely.

the amount of triples that occured this year is the exact probability of how likely a triple is to occur based on league average. things aren't simultaneously improbable and probable at the same time. none of what youre saying makes any sense

in a 3 game sample size, it is incredibly likely for either team to win 3 games in a row, almost 50/50. not sure what youre trying to prove with this either

if theres a 12.5% chance of one team sweeping, and a slightly less than 12.5% chance of the other team sweeping...the odds of either team sweeping the other when theres a sweep is virtually 50/50

Can I ask a question of the group?

Is it a disservice to the top ranked teams that they don't play in the first round? Baseball is a bit of an everyday sport and does it do teams well to have like, almost a week off before they play their first playoff game?

I'm not suggesting that we should make it easier for those teams or anything but like, have players come out and said the time off affects their game?

Is it a reward for those top ranked teams, after 162 games, to then sit for a week?

Just curious what people think.
