funny it's got decent reviews. but I know the rap it's got. I haven't tried it, still want to beat the first two...I got to the final boss of the 1st one as a kid.

It had flaws, but I enjoyed it. Shame the series died with it, given the cliffhanger and obviously unfinished story. They had plans for more, but we are two gens without a sequel.

I thought it was just as good as Golden Sun 1, dunno why people didn't like it...

Only one I played was Lost Age. I remember liking it.

Golden Sun 1 probably wouldn't have been remembered as as good of a game if 2 didn't exist, and Dark Dawn is extra bad about it. It felt like massive bait. Plus the visuals weren't quite as impressive- the GBA games really looked DAMN good for GBA games

It was decent enough, but definitely the weakest of the three. I still liked it.

I lost interest back in the day, but general consensus in this thread is making me feel better.

The first two gba games are some of my favorites.

dark dawn's problem was that it was blatantly just half a game

it wasn't even bad- if it resolved some questions from the first games (alex) and introduced some new questions, it'd have been great

i do appreciate that they upgraded saturos's theme into a better form but thats mostly just me simping sakuraba

I beat the first two games multiple times, but only managed to get through dark dawn once. A sad end to the series.

The first two were some of my favorite GBA games easily. I agree Dark Dawn is alright and enjoyable in its own right, but suffers from the half a game set up without a closing act.

I remember absolutely hating Dark Dawn but its been too long to concretely give examples of why. I do remember the characters feeling extremely shallow and just everything generally feeling the same but worse than the old games. I've replayed 1 and 2 recently and they hold up excellently (and honestly I think 1 is actually the better of the two).

Aww man I remember playing TLA and loving it. That was probably one of the first games that ever drove me to visit this site, because I inevitably got stuck on some puzzle and youtube didn't exist yet. Might have even been the reason I created an account so I could post on the message board.

I played Lost Age first and really liked it. Played the first one a while back and it was good but felt really short. I've had Dark Dawn for ages now and still haven't started it.

I bought dark dawn instead of crono trigger DS and regret it frequently to this day, still haven't played crono trigger tbh

I think the thing I really hated about it (Besides the game ending with a cliffhanger that will never be resolved) is the dialog is overly drawn out and repetitive. I was playing it back when it first came out, and realized that the characters were just repeating the same general point over and over, without really adding anything else. By that I mean, a character would say "the sky is blue" then reiterate the sky is blue a dozen more times, before the next character agrees that the sky is in fact blue, and that the sky is blue etc.

it got really frustrating to the point that I just started mashing A through most of the dialog and I still feel i didn't miss any of it.
