I'll try, but this is something I've kinda been wanting to do for a while, it was just hard to bring myself to do it. Inktober wasn't doing it for me particularly.

Day 7

To be honest, the only panel I'm fairly happy with is the 3rd, I feel like I got the expression just right. I was having difficulty getting the two expressions on the right to look sufficiently different, or even decent. I think I've got to look for a reference for those two. The middle panel should probably be split into two or something. Or maybe swap the last two panels, and have the profile shot having her holding her head with her hand. It just feels like it needs a little bit extra of a transition. Gotta get used to drawing it in profile as well, couldn't find my reference sketches for it until I was nearly done, not sure if I have more somewhere else.

Overall, the page feels a bit messy, but it's something that can be reworked.

Decided imma draw the OG 151 Pokemon to help me get better at drawing.

-A clear goal
-Something I've enjoyed since my earliest memorys
-Relatively simple designs

I don't plan to do color though. Too much to think about on top of the basics for now.

Pretty happy with my little frog plant. First try and didn't take long at all. A few errors like that little dent in the mouth, his toes are a bit jank and a few jagged/too thick spots in the inking but hey he looks happy so can't be too bad. Tbh I was steadier handed then I expected when inking so that's nice.

Tried to do the bubble letters pokemon use for its logo minus the shadow/outline. That came out okayish but its just a little bonus not the focus here.

I will probably do a second go at some of them to try some shading or coloring out. Or try some enviorments or poses.

Ah hell yeah. Sounds like a good challenge. And that Bulbasaur looks great.

Day 8

I couldn't really get this page to feel right. Still not happy with it, I could see myself completely removing this and maybe even last page, I didn't have them originally, but I felt like things moved too fast, so you didn't get a sense of her life. I'll try to catch up on the weekend. It's 5am and I have work. >_>

I do like how you managed to shade the fire, I'm still pretty awful at making fire related stuff.

Day 12

The first panel was supposed to look kinda funny... but I feel like it might not be obvious. Honestly I'm not huge on these last few pages and the pacing of how they're going, but maybe I'd like them better if they were drawn more carefully. I'll be able to read it all once this is over, so hopefully I can better measure what works and what doesn't.

I struggle so much with fire. Pokeymans fire has a particular look to it in the anime and official art and I think you did a good job capturing it.

Appreciate that. I've been back and forth with how I've been jotting things down. Before when I had written out some things with just text, she was pretty cold the whole way through, but when I did a rough (well, a rougher rough), I felt like this worked better.

Day 14:

Well, I ended up spending some time screwing around and refamiliarizing myself with the program, and had to redraw some stuff (which is saying something, since I'll have to redraw a LOT). It's kind of amusing to me how unfinished Lily looks, with her basically being all white. It could probably be solved by giving her some screentone on her clothes, and I'll probably end up doing that, but it's started to amuse me.

Day 15:

Probably a weekend catchup thing again. Next page or the page after is gonna be what the original intro was, so it shouldn't be too bad. The panelling is awkward, could use a third panel on the top, might have to shrink the bottom bit.

One last minute fix I did was making his spots darker. Ivysaur has noticeably darker spots then Bulbasaur.

Day 18

This was a page I'd messed around with a bit before this month. I remember I was planning on adding more panels to space the text out a bit more... and I will... probably. Just getting it done for now, since I've been staying behind. The reason the text seems more cramped than it should be, is because of the crop areas. Where it is, on the bottom, is right above where things would start warping if it was in a magazine or book, or something. While obviously not really a big deal for a digital format, I felt it was probably better to try and work within the confines.

Caught up... except not really cause it's the 20th now. But close enough. Once again I used an old layout, so adjustments will have to be made. I'll try not to feel too bad about how I'm being a bit lazy. Better to get 'something' done, than nothing.

I have a bad habit of drawing a little on the small side which can cause some issues. Gotta get better about that. I either go big and have more trouble with proportions and lining things up or go small and make details harder to do.

Drawing people is a lot harder then pogeymans :(

Next up is the rest of the squirtle line.

One thing I've heard is that drawing humans can be tough because you sort of automatically try to draw what you think looks right, instead of what things look like. Like, when drawing a hand, you kinda think "yeah, this length is right". It isn't really conscious. I'd recommend trying to draw a person based off a reference image, but put the image upside down, and really focus on trying to replicate it. I can't promise it'll be perfect, or even good, but it might surprise you.

I forget if I mentioned it, but I'd been planning on splitting these pages up a bit more, just cause I felt like there was an overuse of large panels, so conversations end up either being short, or fitting a lot into a single bubble. I guess the issue is, besides the fact that I'm not good at it, the talking area isn't exactly an interesting place. They aren't walking and talking, they're just talking in a very bare room, which probably isn't the best place. I'm sure someone better could still shake things up more than me.

Day 25:

For the record, if you ever have any suggestions, like if my panelling seems weird or it seems to jump around weirdly, by all means let me know. But also don't force yourself to say anything either, I'm gonna be taking a good look after and try to come up with important fixes. By the way, the panel that's empty besides the text, just couldn't think of anything to put there. The text in the last panel feels like it needlessly gets in the way as well. The fist shaking effect was an effect I previously attempted on another page, but it didn't look right, this one looks better, but I could probably make some additional changes.

Caught up, except it's past midnight now, so no I'm not. But it pretty much counts. So a couple of things.

First, is this page readable? Like, did you get where your eyes were meant to go, and in which order? This page ended up weirder than I expected it to, but I kind of like it. However, I'm not 100% sure that bottom bit makes sense sequentially.

Second, this is not ending on November 30, most likely lol. If I absolutely rushed every point, or cut off part of my intended end, then maybe. I'm not exactly fussed about this. While this is hardly a masterpiece, I think I should get out what I think I should get out, there's no point in doing all this and just halfhearting it at the finish line. Would I even redo pages if I did? Anyway, I don't know for sure how much longer this is going, I'm making up the conversation as it goes, because I didn't like how I originally had it.

Of course, I say I'm not halfhearting it, but I've been leaving out a lot of details, even keeping in mind how simple I'm drawing it in the first place.

Sometime u just need some time off the comic and let loose on like water flowing through streams. Don't think it as procrastination, think it as a tactical retreat to the hot spring before the big game/war. Nice drawing of girl whom pororin assumed need to go the restroom.

this is the second time someone's thought i drew that when I didn't draw that. tbh, out of context I can see it. Would look better if the right arm was pointed up-right instead of down-right.
