Honestly I think launch Cyberpunk was probably more interesting then how Starfield turned out.

Always thought Starfield was geared up to be another marginally better at launch No Man's Sky, as was kinda right.

This. Launch Cyberpunk was pretty great on PC though. The side quests and stuff to do was more interesting than most open world games.

The biggest mistake Cyberpunk made was releasing on the Ps4 and Xbox...whatever gen that Xbox was called.

I had Cyberpunk on release on PC, while it had its issues, its world building and characters and immersion(outside of dumb AI routines by NPC's and traffic flow among other things) was amazing. The combat and music made every encounter absolutely enthralling to be in. The RPG mechanics were unfortunately lacklaster. I didn't run into many bugs outside of some bugged quests and bugged npc's every once in awhile.

2.0 fixed most of these issues, and I'd argue Cyberpunk is the best looking game on the market, it looks goddam amazing. Starfield, as much as I've played, just seems like another Bethesda game, which isn't bad, I love their games, but the difference is night and day.

Im seriously starting to think just releasing games in an inferior state might be the best strategy going forward. Better to spend a year perfecting it than wait another 3 years delaying it, and even then itll probably still have problems anyway.

Agreed all around. But at the time it released, barely anyone had XBX / PS5. The rub is I think the game actually ran pretty well on PS4 Pro and whatever the Xbox equivalent was, but Sony and Microsoft wouldnt let them release pro only versions.

CDPR didn't do any favors by only providing their own B-roll footage for the games too for reviews. It was pretty scummy.

Cyberpunk has pretty much always been better than Starfield.

Starfield isn't even that much better than no man's sky at times imo.

Sure. But if theyd released next gen only versions, it would barely have sold. Probably a better decision in retrospect, but hindsight is 2020.

It also would have been better if theyd delayed it until 2023, but if youll recall, entitled gamers were already raking them over the coals for delaying it as much as they did. People cant have it both ways.

Oh 100%. The discourse around the game(and it still persists today) made it impossible to have actual discussions about the game, so much vitriol and hate just engulfed everything around it.
