'92 and I'm most definitely a 90s kid. Maybe it helps I had an older brother, but I am way more nostalgic for 90s stuff than anything else after it.

But I also had a lot of 80s influence from my mom, which tells me none of this really matters.

TC is right. I used to do this and bald faced lie about being an "80's kid" because I listened to the Cure and Depeche Mode and nobody called me on my BS. I stopped in my mid-20's because I realized how bad things were going to get from there and as long as I was a 90's kid it was fine as long as I wasn't a 2000's and up kid.

When I look back, 90's tv is fucking embarrassing.
90% of it is straight fucking garbage.

I was born in 76 and my first memory of a truly major world event was when Mount St Helens blew in May of 1980 at just 4 years old. I remember all the news coverage and people talking about it. I even had a relative give me a glass bottle of some volcanic ash from out there.

I could see a 40 year old still having quite a few memories from the late 80s.

I get that the 00's kids like to troll us by claiming to be 90s kids because the 90s were fucking awesome and the 00's sucked, I really do.

To be honest, this is what Millenials did with 80s kid pop culture references all through the naughts. The only explanation I can think of is that enough 80s cartoons leaked into the 90s and their childhood in the form of reruns.

Notice it's only "90s kid" that is gatekept. No one tries to prove they are an 80s kid or a 2000s kid.

Because being a 90s kid was just that awesome.

I just don't get "If you weren't born in 1989 or earlier you aren't a 90s kid".

Like I watched too much Figure it Out, Guts, Pete and Pete and Weinerville to not be a 90s kid. Get out of here.

81 and yes i remember when MTV actually played music videos, the ones that stuck with me are "Take On Me", "Sledgehammer" & "Money For Nothing".
Also remember when stations went off air overnight.
