Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce needed a blank space for their dinner date. After the duo left the Kansas City Chiefs game together Sunday, a TikTok user claimed the singer paid to clear out a local restaurant. I just got a call from a friend [in Missouri] and Taylor is going into a place, and she just paid for everybody in the restaurant so they would leave, the fan alleged. They were eating and the waitress came up to them and said, Heres the deal. Everythings paid for, but you have to leave, like, right now,' she continued. How freaking insane is this? The social media user clarified, Oh and, of course, shes with Travis Kelce. She went on to write in a comment that, according to her eyewitness pal, a bunch of the other players arrived at the restaurant. The TikToker did not name the establishment in the upload.

Swifties expressed mixed feelings in the comments section, with many calling the outing a rom-com fairytale. However, another wrote, While I love this for her, Id be so annoyed if I was being pressure[d] to leave just bc someone wanted privacy. Like, go home. Swift, 33, put fans into a frenzy when she watched Kelces team beat the Chicago Bears over the weekend, cheering from the athletes box with his mom, Donna Kelce.

Honestly, fuck entitled celebrities. Reserve the restaurant ahead of time or deal with the public.

The alternative is she, the biggest star on the planet, doesn't get to just force everyone else to leave, thus disturbing THEIR meal, just because she doesn't want to be disturbed. One of the unfortunate consequences of being one of the richest and most famous people on the planet is you lose the ability to just go into a regular place and have a regular meal, but in exchange she could hire Gordon Ramsay to cook her dinner at the top of the Eiffel Tower if she really wants that "special meal" feel.

There are celebrities who low/key hide their appearance and eat in the corner. Admittedly, all the ones Ive heard of doing this are men and usually not ones who have very intense fanbases.

Taylor and Travis paid the restaurant enough to make their nightly profits and then some and will probably never go to that restaurant again. Everyone else can just go back tomorrow.

if she had planned for this ahead of time i'd have less of an issue with it. then the restaurant could put up signs and post on their socials that they won't be available on such and such day. having people that are already there kicked out is shitty.

Idk I'd be pretty mad if I had a reservation and was starving waiting for my food I ordered and was told I had to go, even if it were paid for. Like I still want my food I'm hungry and have been looking forward to this now I have to scramble to find another restaurant.

so here's how the article goes

a tiktocker got a phone call from a friend, and that friend heard from soneone else, that taylor swift paid everyone's tabs. Did she force them out immediately? Well, the loaded language to manufacture outrage says YES. But lets take off our modcaps and think rationally here -- no one was being ushered out. The celebrities likely had to do this well in advance of arriving

no, but my uncle works at the restaurant as a dishwasher and says that they get to eat all the food the customers leave on their plates

Honestly I expected to see she gave everybody like $1000. Did she just pay for the meal? And what if they hadn't gotten their food yet? I dunno this seems really annoying to me lol

If true that would be bad form. Its one thing to essentially reserve all the tables so you have the place to yourself at a specified time, its another to do it spur of the moment and have diners kicked out.

Why would a restaurant risk losing future business from regular customers by agreeing to this.

And "a tiktok user's friend said" is about the most credible source ever, so of course it's 100% true.

Given the Swifties and their propensity for documenting things, I wouldn't believe this without another party verifying it or photo/video proof.

Oh a KC restraunt absolutely would do this. Kelce and Mahomes are basically treated as demigods here and establishments love to host them. Though typically it's more along the lines of them hitting up a bar after a game and paying for everyone's drinks.

But Kelce and Taylor Swift, just about any restraunt would bend over backwards for them.

Again I doubt the veracity of the story based on the near-complete lack of sources, but that element is at least believable.
