Brake checking is actually illegal. It doesn't matter that he ended up hitting them, that was the other driver's intention and is entirely why it's illegal.

I used to have a coworker who'd share anecdotes of her boyfriend and how she was starting to get annoyed going out with him because he'd turn every conflict into an opportunity to pull his gun out. People where the grass is be fucking crazy. Better to stay inside and avoid all that.

Really hope she safely got our of that relationship, cause that's a ticking time bomb if I ever saw one.

There was no one and nothing keeping them from moving over to the right lane to pass me, which they did. You'll have to forgive me if I don't wish to go 50-60MPH on a 40MPH road on surface streets populated by stoplight intersections. Yes, I engaged when I shouldn't have, but they're the ones who got pissy first and decided to start throwing shit.

Yes, I thought I was being tough when I gave them the same treatment they gave me. Yes, that toughness went away the moment they decided to start shooting a gun. Yes, I learned my lesson. No, I didn't make this up, though I have no way currently to prove it.

They drove in front and hit the breaks, and he had to flee for his life to get out of an attempted murder.

I've almost been shot before too. Wandering the woods in my neighborhood ended up in someone's back yard. Next thing I know their is a Oldman with a shot gun screaming "get out of my yard" then a loud boom. I don't know actually if it was a warning shot cause as soon as I saw the boomstick I was hauling ass back into the woods.

But your story made me think of a time I was riding with my mother and this other driver was being a real dick. Forger what he was doing but it had my mom furious

She pulled up beside them in the next lane and paced them. Told me to lean my seat back and so I did. Next thing I know her arm is extended over me pointing a gun at them. They slammed on the breaks and let us go ahead and stay ahead of them.

Doubt she woulda fired but when someone jeopardizes her kids safety she cam get unhinged. I've known her to follow someone home and do bootleg turns in their front yard slinging mud all over their house. All cause something they did made her slam on the breaks and my face almost ate the dashboard.

I used to road rage too until someone brake checked me in the freeway.

That someone was willing to kill me over me honking my horn was enough for me to learn my lesson.

it's pretty much true just to let it go since one could see the end result (actually the last thing somebody would want) being shot at (huge risk of injury or death).

Sad to say, it's best not to even engage. Too many people are itching to use their gun.

Really cannot stress enough how important it is that people do not do this. You never know when there's a genuinely insane person in the other car.

Drive fast enough in the left lane to not even be honked at to begin with for starters, as I move to the right if I want to cruise or drive slower. Not try and make someone "go around" me on the right, not act tough but try to drive off simultaneously, hitting the other car.

No. What I as doing before all this shit started wasn't wrong. Regardless of why I was in the left lane, it wasn't enough to justify someone throwing shit at me in the first place, as long as I'm at least doing the speed limit. As I said, this wasn't the fucking interstate or highway, this was surface streets with stoplight intersections. I was sarcastic when I said it before, but I won't be now: I'm not sorry that I wasn't going 50-60MPH on a 40MPH road.

Stop trying to vilify me for simply following the damn law by going the speed limit.

Yeah I never got the whole "You have to go above the speed limit in this lane!" thing. Some of us don't want to risk getting pulled over by a cop for starters.

But more to the point, if anyone is genuinely trying to blame TC for the reaction they received, I recommend that person stop posting and start seeing the local circus is in town.

In fairness, the left lane is supposed to be the passing lane. If youre getting passed on the right might be time to switch lanes

You're not allowed to exceed the speed limit, even if you're passing someone. If you have to drive above the limit in order to pass somebody, then you don't need to pass them.

But you didn't follow the law. You impeded traffic which is a citation in itself, escalated things, and then broke the law again by doing a hit and run.

You then broke several other laws running red lights because you heard a loud noise behind you. It's fortunate you didn't kill anyone.

I start driving, they pull ahead of me, and they proceed to get in front of me and slam on their brakes. Luckily, my brakes are good and I merely bumped into them, maybe causing a scratch on both. The women get out of their car and start cussing at me, trying to keep me from leaving, but I'm able to go around them, flipping them off while I'm at it. They hurry back into their car and follow me close behind.

stuff like that is why i been wanting to get a gun and dashcam. never really dealt with it myself. people are crazy and escalate stuff way too far over nothing.

it's best to just avoid situations like that. just let them go. maybe try to get a license plate and call it in but by you escalating things then they just take it to 100.

you check your car for any bullet holes? might wanna take it to a mechanic just in case.

I checked and didn't find any bullet holes. They only fired twice, and I'm thinking they did it more to scare than to actually cause harm.

I knew of a coworker who was carjacked in her own driveway in Memphis at least 10 years ago or so.

I would never be fuckin around with anyone there in general.
