The Xwing Rogue Squadron and Wraith Squadron series were great, most of Zahn's stuff was good, even if there was some funky concepts (Cloned Luuke, the anti-Force tree animals) In regards to the Vong arc, it was overall decent, but i think some of the writers were weaker than others. --- Take all you have brought to sacrifice, for you will lose much more. Lucas was fully aware of what creative authority he was giving up. Furthermore his script is basically TLJ but with a few names and details changed around. Most of the stuff people complain about, the powerful female protagonist and etc were there in some form or another. In fact Daisy Ridley began shooting under Reys original name, Kira, being from his script. The EU crap, HTTE, Mara Jade, literslly none of it was even in the script. It was never canon in Lucas eyes and I'm not sure why he didn't just make another gd trilogy with the OT actors. They were right there and aside from Ford weren't exactly blowing up theaters with roles. Hamill spent 30 years doing cartoons and aged out, carrie spent 30 years doing various drugs and aged out.
