Kind of sucks that this thing is gonna be holding next gen back for the entire generation tbh. Although i do like the low cost to entry, im not sure its worth stunting the entire generation

I didn't think about it until they stopped making multi-platform games for Xbox One.

I like my S. Happy I went with it over the X.

I legit cant believe such an awful console has sold so much. Im pretty sure youll see landfills of them in the near future.

Not shocked at all

It was a MUCH better deal than the X. At least w/ PS5, the price difference was only $100 and the lack of an optical drive (which was still massively overpriced for what cost them at most $30 to implement; but at least the specs were the same).

When it comes to consoles, cheaper typically wins vs. more powerful.
And especially w/ MS, which can't help but put all the Xbox games on PC, anyone wanting a high end machine for their Xbox games would be better served just getting a gaming PC anyway.

The Series S is smart. No frills, does what it needs to, and cheap. Xbox in general is held back by being pointless vs. a PC w/ how they handle their library, but at least the S has a place for people who don't want to pay a lot to game.

It's not even close to being as powerful. It's significantly weaker, and developers are forced to make sure their games run well on it if they want to put a game on the series platform. It's really holding people back.

Even compared to the switch?

I stayed out of this generation and didn't know the series s was so gutted. I thought it was just slightly modified.

This. The difference between the Series S and the Series X doesn't matter to me because I'm not a stickler for graphics, and the lack of a disc drive doesn't matter because I haven't bought a physical game in several years. There's nothing the Series X provides over the Series S that I feel like I need at all, much less anything that justifies the much higher price.

I've gone without internet too many times to buy online only anything.

weaker, no disk drive while only having 512gb (actually I believe its around 400gb), to upgrade the storage you would be basically paying the equivalent of a Series X, you could get an actual next gen experience with double the storage for only a $100 more in the PS5D.

I mean it's significantly more powerful than the Switch lol. The Switch isn't even as powerful as the PS4/Xbone were.

I got the X.

It's a little faster than my friend's S and has 4k capability. I also enjoy the storage space.

Its really not much more powerful then the previous gen, Its sole selling point for most people is the cheap price and more then a few parents purchased it because they didn't know any better when all there kids asked for was "The new Xbox" and saw it so cheap

I only got the S because i couldn't find any non-scalped X's. And this was a year sgo

It's more powerful than the Switch, but that isn't really in the same category. While the Switch can be docked, it has to be relatively weak as it's also a handheld device.

completely predictable. if something's $200 cheaper and plays all the same games it's a no-brainer if you don't care about the technical aspects, which most people don't
