It's possible they won't be strong, but I feel like XVI has been much more hyped and played by this board than XV was. I have a feeling its cast will fair a lot better than its predecessor.

Also no Wakka, despite the fact he will definitely be getting in next year (Genny and I will probably spend all nominations on him).

then I remembered Rebirth is coming out before the next contest and now that plan has gone up in smoke

yeah it's great that Rebirth is coming out so VII can have a contest renaissance, that game has really fallen on hard times

I told Genny you put Braska on the list and she was wondering why. I don't really think it's feasible to give Braska a decent run if Wakka is coming back to get out of the bottom 10, plus Shuyin still will be around. Also I don't know if you've noticed, but my legitimate favorite is a pretty weak character if guff and I aren't supporting him. All those things combined and even if Braska got in, he would end up hard booted almost surely. I'm not really interested in bringing in characters just to get bad stats that way.

charon: it wasn't a whim there was a real conversation around bringing Braska back at the time, pretty sure I'm not making that up in my head... and part of that conversation was also not doing a Wakka redemption run so that's news to me, if I missed it back then it was an oversight on my part.

Edit: ok found at least one post and I thought the "joint pilgrimage" gimmick would be pretty cool! Put off Wakka redemption for another year come onnnnn

I also remember there being talk of a Yuna/Braska dual redemption run, sad to hear that isn't going to happen. I'll need someone to jump to once Angelo goes out in the 40s and I Yuna was on the shortlist

I like Braska fine. But that was Genny's project; she got a lot more help from guff than me on it I think. There were some other people in on that run (the good one) as well. I've always thought Braska needs than FFX-0 to come to fruition to really be great, because you just never really learn enough about him through the Jecht spheres. I mean, enough I suppose, if we're using characters who do well in SMFFFC as a gauge...

Baralai is great. But no one nominate him ever please, thanks. Nominate stuff you're actually gonna support! He had one excellent run, but I have no saves to devote to him at the moment.

ok in lieu of an edit let me post here: unless I'm misreading things, the last contest that had two FF4 characters entering was allll the way back in contest XI which was the returns of Edward and Golbez.

1 entrant in contests XII, XIV, XV, XVII, XX, XXI, XXII, and XXV

So between Yang, Edge, Tellah or whoever... odds would say only one could get in but precedence could always be broken!
