After Waldo got the lowest score yet... now it's time for a very special episode! Released on 16 December 2014, this episode brings together two unlikely topics: Christmas cheer and Black Mirror... for a not very jolly ending.
The episode explores three stories told by Matt (Jon Hamm) and Joe (Rafe Spall) from a remote cabin on Christmas Day. The first follows a man attempting to seduce a woman at a Christmas party while receiving remote guidance; the second sees Matt at his job training "cookies", digital clones of people; and the third shows Joe obsessed over an ex-fiance after the relationship abruptly ends.

I didn't hate it, but this episode bugged me. The cookie technology felt so blatantly evil that I couldn't get invested in exploring it. I also absolutely hated the third story with Joe's ex-girlfriend because she could've just talked to him for five minutes. Hell, anyone could've talked to him for five minutes (her father, their friends...) but nobody did because tragedy. Meh.

I still think about the ending like once a week at least.

9/10 for me too.

The cookie technology is essentially "slavery with extra steps", but it's to yourself so is it really slavery? Well even if it's not technically slavery it is objectively cruel and the time dilation is excessive. Still this episode is all the best aspects of White Bear and The Entire History of You done correctly so it's by extension better than those while falling just shy of perfection for me.
