Who have we all been watching? Do you still watch as much these days? Thoughts on the the new EN and JP girls from hololive?

Fauna is pretty much the only person i watch whenever they are on. Elira's persona runs i've been watching during work, they're pretty fun

These days the ones I go out of my way to watch are Saruei, Shiina, Lia, Filian, Lumi, Pippa, and Henya. Otherwise i'll catch the occasional Giri, Riro, Coni, or HoloEn strim

For the new girls i'm digging Bijou and Fuwamoko, all in all i've been watching a ton less hololive these days as i'm more into the indie/phase connect thing

Still watchin' everybody in holoEN, though I'll admit since Advent I haven't been able to keep up with the boys as much anymore

in terms of the new folks Bijou makes the happy brain juice go, though Shiori's a close second with her unhinged rambling (I'm still not sold on the goth-GF-questionmark angle but she seems to have veered into just being a lovable weirdo instead, which is much preferable in my view). I thought I'd like Nerissa more but kinda bounced off, Fuwamoco prime-slot overlaps with Fauna/Ina who I enjoy watching more but do love their morning show a lot

In other recent news, Kronii 3D showcase probably the most inventive one thus far (I will admit massive bias on that but still). Fauna's is also good but still in copyright prison

It's a horrible idea and completely removes her from the general hololive viewer box. Shorts views and the subscribers they get you are nearly worthless. Those people do not care about you, they will not watch your streams or stream vods, and more importantly, they won't BUY MERCH.

If she really cares more about shorts numbers than her Hololive career in general then fair enough, but it is really going to cost her in the eyes of the regular Hololive viewer.

I thought hololive had an exclusive deal with youtube

Not that this will impact me much. I don't really follow the Japanese girls other than an occasional subtitled clip

Why would they ever do that? I don't think any streamers have exclusive deals with youtube. I know from EN that Gura, Ame, and probably some others have streamed on Twitch occasionally. Even more from the JP side.

I think this is her saying she's just wanting to focus on shorts, basically. I've seen quite a few VTubers doing it, but this is the first time I've seen one with quite as many subs as La+ do it. That said... I can't really think of a streamer in general, unless they straight up started streaming on both from the beginning, that this hasn't absolutely decimated their viewer base by doing this, much less one working for a company that is basically wholly centered around one platform. Hope it works out for her, but it seems a bit questionable.

Lola Loading/YFU Baby didn't sign that NDA in the end, they did a Discord stage event last night in the end going over the details and future plans.

They'll be going solo and plan to be back to streaming next year. IIRC around June/July.

FalseEyeD released a video on the drama with Taiyaki Studios last night as well.

la+ already probably streamed the most on twitch of everyone in holo? maybe? for some reason valorant streams often ended up on twitch (I don't know why) and she'd streamed a fair bit of that so...

I just sort of get the impression she prefers doing video editing and general memery over longform streams

The thing about La+.....yeah it kinda confused me too. Hololive is far more well known as Youtube streamers, so it's interesting that management let her focus more on Twitch instead.

Furthermore, unlike say, Lamy or Watame who isn't really tied to a particular group, La+ is tied to HoloX, with her lore being the founder of the group, and all HoloX members besides her still focus on Youtube. It just feels off to see her separating herself like that. On the other hand though, it seems she's still going to stream in Youtube as well, she just focus more on Twitch.

The year after I move out of the area... Damnit.

I went to Anime NYC 2021 for the first Myth and Council panel. That panel room was jam packed but it only lasted for like 40ish minutes and it was delayed. Also the convention is in November so it's already cold by that time and entering the Javits for badge pickup takes super long. I remember going directly after BDSP release at Nintendo NY and it was super windy that day. The cosplayers I saw in the wind were barely dressed for the weather, they must have been freezing. Directly after getting my badge (took 2 hours) I stayed in front of the room for the Myth/Council panel which started 2 hours after that, and that's what you had to do or else you wouldn't have a good seat in the room/

That was my first time in the Javits and I couldn't find my way at all around the building. The map they provided was awful, I think I ended up in like staff rooms or something trying to look for a room.

Basically, if you want to attend these, you really have to prepare to enter the panels/concerts and most importantly: don't go just for these because there's a high chance the Advent panel will be disappointing/short/delayed.

I've been going to NYCC and AnimeNYC for over 10 years and I also live in NYC so I know the gist. This year I'm skipping NYCC since the last 3/4 years of it have been pretty awful though. Last year AnimeNYC did badge pickup outside of Javits which still took some time but my badge is being mailed to me.

Someone might record the Advent event. It happened with Myth and Council
